Melanie kindly listened to Angelia's incessant babbling about Samuel Harris, a Hufflepuff whom she had Care of Magical Creatures with. Since their journey from the great hall, Melanie had learned that he preferred to be called Sam but his parents preferred Samuel, she had learned that his favourite colour was yellow - how surprising for a Hufflepuff - and that he was one of the chasers for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
"Angelia." Melanie breathed, exasperated. Her best friend turned to her, grinning like a maniac. Deciding to hold back her sarcastic remark and merely smile. "Why don't you talk to him?" She laughed and Angelia pouted, jutting out her bottom lip.
"Because," She began, and linking her arms through Melanie's, Angelia spoke once more, just as bubbly as before. "He is way too pretty and perfect."
"You're Angelia Zabini!" She exclaimed in response and Angelia rolled her eyes.
"You know how Blaise will react." Angelia huffed and Melanie snorted.
"I also know he's a fifteen year old boy and is your little brother so it's none of his business." Melanie pointed out.
"But then he'll tell mum." Angelia whined and Melanie hissed through her teeth, shrugging. "That I can't help you with. But we all know you'll end up with him anyway. If anything, your parents distaste would increase your attraction to Sam."
"Mel, really? Anyway, when you go out with Cedric we can double date." Angelia announced causing Melanie to choke on air. "You're obsessed." She noted and the brunette shook her head. "No, I just know when I see love blossoming. Trelawny says I have a talent for it." She said matter of factly.
"Trelawny also told me that 'this year will hold great sorrow and devastation for you'. " Melanie replied, attempting to impersonate the Divination teacher, which only caused Angelia to snort. "Okay I get it Mel, you don't believe in premonitions."
"You can't believe in something that isn't real." The onyx haired girl replied, arching an eyebrow. Angelia rolled her eyes and pushed open the door to the Potions room. "Now you just sound like a muggle talking about magic."
"Miss Hollows, Miss Zabini how nice of you to join us." The laborious voice of Severus Snape drawled from the top of the classroom. Melanie looked up at him, cringing at his greasy hair and pointed nose. It was quite funny, Snape seemed to hate everyone but everytime he looked at Melanie all she saw was pity in his eyes, which confused her to no end. She had come to the conclusion long along that she would rather he simply hated her.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world Sir." Angelia smiled innocently, well aware that they were fifteen minutes late for their lesson. The two girls headed to their regular seat at the back of the classroom when Snape spoke again.
"Miss Zabini, you seem to have lost your sense of direction, and Miss Hollows you seem to be blind. Do you see any other Slytherin's sitting together?"
The two girls looked around the classroom and Melanie swore when she realised that he had mixed the entire classroom up.
"Maybe they're just in a fight." Melanie shrugged, jutting out her hottom lip.
"I doubt it." Snape said sharply and Angelia snorted at how annoyed he was becoming. "Miss Zabini, sit beside Mr Harris."
