*LOUIS' POV*

Mum was probably worried about me, so I think I'll sneak in through the window. I climbed the railings and opened up the window to my room. I know it's bad to keep it unlocked, but for days like this, it's necessary.

After taking a shower and changing into fresh clothes, I walked downstairs and into the kitchen where I found Lottie eating some cereal.

"Where were you?" she asked quietly.

"I was at a friend's house."

"Which friend?"

"Uh, Brooklyn.." I said while fixing my jacket.

"Jones? I thought you hated her..."

"Well I don't anymore. Where's mum?" I asked changing the subject.

"She's still in her room. She came home late and didn't notice you weren't even home yet."

I nodded. Shortly after, mum walked out of her room and into the kitchen to join us.

"Morning mum! I'm going over to a friend's house for some breakfast. I'll cook dinner tonight! What time are you coming home?"

"Late as usual, so just cook dinner for you and Lottie. And who's this friend? Is it Niall?"

I shook my head. "No it's, um, Brooklyn."

"The Jones' daughter? How is she? I haven't heard from her in ages!"

"She's doing fine," I lied. Brooklyn's the opposite if fine right now. "We just haven't talked in...3 years? But we're fine now." I walked over to Lottie and mum to give them both a kiss on the cheek. "Bye mum! Bye Lottie!"

They waved goodbye and I drove back to Brooklyn's house. When I rang the doorbell, Maria opened up the door and greeted me with a smile.

"Mister Tomlinson! Miss Jones told me you were coming over for breakfast. Please come in! Miss Jones is getting ready in her room."

"Please, call me Louis," I said with a smile. She nodded and went back to the kitchen.

I headed upstairs and was about to knock on Brooklyn's door, until something caught my attention. A grand piano. How come I didn't see it yesterday? I walked closer to it and discovered it was a limited edition Yamaha C3XA, something I always dreamed of having.

"You're back already?" I heard a voice say. I turned around and saw Brooklyn dressed in a light pink sweater, white jeans, and her hair was braided to the side. Simple, but still beautiful.

"Yeah, my mum never noticed I never came home last night. Is this yours?" I asked.

She nodded. "I named her Haverty. I think it's a beautiful name for a beautiful piano."

"I think so too. Do you mind playing something for me?"

"Maybe another day," she said.

"You always say that."

She chuckled and gestured me to go downstairs with her. The aroma of pancakes filled the house, causing my mouth to water.

"Hello Miss Brookyln, hello Louis! Today I made a variety of blueberry, chocolate chip and regular pancakes."

"Thank you Maria, this looks lovely! We'll be going to school at about 6:45."

Maria nodded and walked to a different room. I took a seat across from Brooklyn at the table and waited for her to be seated.
