*BROOKLYN'S POV*

After stopping by my place to pick up the painting, Louis was awfully quiet during the car ride to his house. His hands were gripped around the steering wheel really tight, so tight I thought his knuckles were going to rip open! He seems nervous, maybe I should suggest we turn around and go back to my place-

"We're here! Casa de...de...um, Tomlinson? Yeah!"

I giggle at his Spanish. "Your home is still lovely," I say to him.

He smiles and unlocks the front door for us. He holds the door open and I set my shoes aside. He does the same and leads me to the kitchen.

"Lottie, you remember Brooklyn right?"

"Brooklyn? BROOKLYN!!! IT'S BEEN SO LONG! I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" She runs over and hugs me tight.

"I've missed you too Lottie! You've gotten so beautiful since I last saw you."

She giggles and Louis tells me to go upstairs. I nod and shortly after, he meets me at the top of the stairs where he leads me to his bedroom.

"I got you some water. If you want something else I can go back downstairs and-"

"Water's fine Louis," I say with a smile. I look around his room and notice something on the wall. It was a photo of us when we went to the fair. He had won me a pink bear and a friend room the photo after he had won it. Oh how I miss these days...

"What're you looking at?" I hear Louis ask me. He walks over to me and I look at him.

"You..you still have it," I say quietly.

"I didn't have the willpower to throw it away. Do you...do you still have the bear? I didn't see it when I was over there."

"Of course I still have it. And my copy of this photo. I miss this Louis, I've missed you."

"I've missed you too. I'm sorry..I'm so sorry. I know you said you won't forgive me this easily, but I still hope that one day you will." I hug him and I feel his arms wrap around me. I draw circles in his back to calm him down a bit. I know he's sorry, but I can't accept his apology this way. I need more proof.

"Don't lose hope. I mean, we're talking and hanging out right?"

"Yeah, maybe we got set up as partners for a reason after all these years."

I smile at his optimistic thought. If everything does go well between us, I'll need to thank Ms. Kellin for making us partners for this project.

"Okay Louis, we need to continue with this project. Can you start on the tables and chairs and I'll work on the counter that's in the background." He nods and gets straight to work.

After silently drawing, Louis clears his throat and I turn my attention to him.

"So how come you've never invited me over to your house when we were friends?" he asks me unexpectedly.

"What?"

"Like isn't that what friends do? Iviye other friends to each other houses. You've been to mine a bunch of times, but the other day was my first time at yours."

"I don't really invite people over. I wanted to, but I didn't want you to think of me as some rich girl. I try to dress down and not wear the designer clothes my parents buy me as much, but my house would've given it away. I just didn't want you to be like me other "friends" and use me for my background."
