"Hey? Do y'all need anything before I go home" I ask, pulling out of the parking lot of my job.
"No, I can just order them something. Since they eat up everything" A'Raya says into the phone.
"Ha. You sound truly like a mother Ray" I laugh.
"Well I have to be, since my sisters still act like they're in diapers. Do you know Reily's school called me already?!"
"Awe no....what she do now?"
"What do she always do Tyler"
"Either Fighting? Being disrespectful? Tardy? Skipping?...." I laugh again.
"Fighting again"
"Mm mm mm" I shake my head.
"I don't know what I'm going to do with her"
"Just let her keep getting in trouble...she'll learn once she has to go to summer school or repeat the 11th grade"
"Ugh, but I don't want her to end up like Brianna..."
"Yeah...you can't break Bri. No one can. She's one tough cookie"
"Tell me about it. But I have to get back to work okay. Thanks for checking up on us"

"Okay bye bye" she says before hanging up.
I hang up too and put down my phone, thinking about how mature A'Raya actually is now. I mean she just turned 21 and has a stable job, a house, a car and is looking forward into getting into a college. Reminds me so much of my son Isaac, who is about to turn 24 next month.
