2. Reunion

"Yo Embry!" Kat shouted as she walked away from the porch. Embry looked over at the girl in amusement.

"yes?"

"Do you know how far it is to the Cullen's place?" She asked shoving her cold hands into her pockets.

"Its Ten Miles outside of Forks, Twenty miles from where we stand" Kat finally noticed he was wearing shorts and a plain black t-shirt. How was he not freezing?

"Twenty miles, I'm never gonna get there before dawn" she grumbled.

"What do you want with the Cullen's anyway?"

"I want to know what makes them so damn amazing, my two best friends cant even meet me! Plus that's where Mary and Bekah are, so thats where i shall go"

"your not gonna change your mind are you?" it sounded more like a statement than a question.

"Nope"

"Ok, Come on then, ill give you a lift"

"You don't have to do that, you've done enough already, and I'm extremely grateful for that"

"Look, its already dark out, im not about to let you go out in the dark. You have no idea what's out there" Embry said dead serious, losing all sense of playfulness.

"I appreciate you worry about me, but ill be fine, im a big girl, i can take care of myself"

"i'm sure you can, but im still not letting you walk there alone in the dark. It'll be faster if we go in a car anyway"

Kat rolled her eyes and held her hand out, Embry stared at it, trying to figure out her intentions.

"well if were going to spend more time together, might as well tell you my name" she said with a soft smile. Embry smiled back at her.

"Name's Katrina, but everyone calls me Kat so yeah" she said giggling softly.

To Embry the sound of her laughter sounded like music to his ears. He wasnt saying he was falling for her. Heavens no, but the sound of her laugh was very unique.

"nice to meet you Kat" he said taking her hand and shaking it.

"nice to meet you as well Embry"

"well we better head off, if we plan to get there anytime soon" he said smiling at her, his happy playful nature returning once more.

After a forty-five minute car ride, they made it to the Cullen's house. Spending time with the carefree Embry, made Kat feel alot better about life.

Embry hopped out of his truck, and Kat went to do the same, but the door was stuck. With a defeated sigh, Kat climbed out the other side.

"thanks for the ride Embry"

"Your Welcome Kat, come on lets see if your friends are here."

"you dont have to stay" She said as she walked towards the door, Embry followed closely behind.

"My friend Jake should be here, besides it wouldnt be right to leave you amongst them."

"uh huh" she said as knocked on the door. After a couple moments, a drop-dead gorgeous blond opened the door.

She sent a disgusted look at Embry, before taking notice of Kat. She gave Kat a apprehensive look.

"Uhm hello, Im Katrina Clare, I'm looking for my friends Rebekah Porter and Mary Richey, and i was told they were here." The blond looked her up and down.
