"Alex. . ." Our gazes met. He started to come closer. He went to brush the hair off my face, but then I saw yesterday. A flash of what happened. I saw Alex, holding a gun, pointed to me. I stepped away. Maybe he is in St. George, or maybe he was and left because of me. That's crazy Ember! He started to come closer again. I was trained never to let anyone get close. I stiffened as his hand touched my cheek. I'm not ready. He didn't pull back, neither did I. Until a twig snapped behind Alex. I froze. But Alex keept trying to edge closer. Like he was covering for the noise. I tried to pull away, but Alex stopped me. He pulled me closer, until a gun was fired and it hit me in the leg. Horrified and scared, I saw that it wasn't Alex, but a different man in disguise. I saw who was holding the gun. . . I gasped in pain, "You are in St. George you dirty little liar!" Alex face lit up in terror, "No I'm not! He is and I tried to shoot him, not you! Run Ember! Run before they ar-" He was cut off, by the other man who was inches away from my face, stabbing me in the gut. Pain flew thru my veins. Alex then shoot the gun at the man and hit him, right in the head. I saw the man drop to the ground. Horrified, I gagged. I staggered backwards, blood oozing from my stomach. Alex rushed over. I thought that he would finish me off. I saw that he had no weapons. The gun he had just murdered with was left at the rock. Alex helped me up, I couldn't talk, and if I could. . . I would be telling him off. We entered the tent to hear Maddie gasping in terror, probably from my stomach. Gray and Bella were asleep. Which was a good thing in all ways.
I woke up bandaged. I heard talking from outside the tent. I heard Maddies, that was easy. But the male. . . I couldn't tell who is was. Until Maddie opened the tent flap, revealing Alex's face. Maddie motioned Alex in the tent. Alex went in, and Maddie closed the tent flap.
