After sending Ashanti some flowers I thought about going to see her for lunch. That's if I can get her secretary to slide me into her schedule. But knowing Jane she doesn't mind doing that for me. I just have to call Ashanti's office.
"Hey son" looking up to see my mom's face
"Mmh unexpected that's an old one that never get's old" smiling at her"That's not what you said when I introduced you to Ashanti" she smirked while sitting her purse down
"Well played" saluting her"Well I did raise you" she inquired
"Yes thank you but what brings you by" looking through paper work for my next meeting
"I wanted to know about you and Ashanti" she cupped her hands together on my desk
"It's been a couple of weeks mom please don't stress it" hoping she wouldn't make this a regular thing to ask
"Yeah I know but these couple of weeks are turning into a full month"
She said smiling"Mom what's this really about?" stoping what I was doing to sit back in my chair
"Umm I was wondering if you could bring her to dinner this Friday"
"Only if Ashanti wants to go I will come but even if she doesn't I will still come"
"Aww thanks baby" my mom said coming around to hug me
"Alright mom but remember I didn't say yes"
"Yeah yeah and bye now" she said leaving my office with her bag now in tow
I swear my mom is always up to something. But she's pushing it, I swear if I let her she would plan out me and Ashanti's so called life. But her heart is in the right place but it's just too soon to try and rush things. Plus there's still more that I haven't told Ashanti.
