"You know what I've always wanted to do?" You say suddenly, taking hold of his hand. It had been a little over a year since you first started to walk again and Tim had been by your side every step afterwards. You cherished you newfound mobility and now that you were starting to walk without much effort you wanted to do something that you had always wanted to do and you wanted your soulmate to be there with you.

"Me?" He grinned cheekily at your question. You rolled your eyes playfully at his wit.

"Well yes, smartass, but that wasn't what I was referring to." You said.

"Alright then, I'll bite. What have you always wanted to do?" He asked wrapping his arms around you waist as he awaited your answer. You bit you lip to hide your hesitant grin.

"I want to climb Mount Everest, Tim." You announced with a full blown excited grin.

"Mount Everest?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. It wasn't that he didn't believe you could do it – he knew you could – but he wanted to make sure that is what you really wanted. He would stand by your side as your biggest supporter and cheerleader for anything you wanted to do.

"Yeah. For most of my life I haven't been able to use my legs at all and now all I want is to put them to good use. I know it's going to take a lot more training and conditioning to do it, but I want to do it Tim and I want you to be with me when it happens." You say reaching to pull him down to meet your lips. He tightened his arms around you and deepened the kiss. "So?" You prompted hopefully.

"Alright. Let's climb Everest!" He exclaimed excitedly. He picked you up by the waist and you around. You giggled at his enthusiasm. When he finished spinning you he placed you back on the ground only to sweep you off of your feet bridal-style and walking you towards the bedroom. "You, [Y/N], are the most resilient woman I have ever met." He placing a hot kiss to your lips as he set you gently down on the bed.

After spending some time celebrating your latest step with Tim, you get to work preparing your ascent. You and Tim train for months to prepare and when you feel ready the two of you do some recommended training ascents to other high altitude ranges. When you were absolutely sure that you could attempt Everest you and Tim booked your spots with a reputable ascent guide. Finally the day came for the two of you to get on a plane to Nepal.

"We're actually doing this!" You exclaimed excitedly as you boarded the plane. Tim squeezed your hand slightly and gave you a reassuring smile.

"You ready for this, [Y/N]?" He asked.

"Sure, I mean how hard could it be?" You said confidently.

You had little difficulties in the beginning of the climb. The thin air at base camp threw you for a loop at first but eventually your lungs managed to adjust to the atmosphere. Your training had prepared you well for the biggest feat of your life but then your legs hit a roadblock. Halfway through the second day your legs started to feel completely drained. You waited until the group stopped for a quick rest before you mentioned anything to Tim. You found yourself a large boulder to lean against and you started to rub the soreness out of your legs. Tim noticed your look of distress.

"Do they hurt?" He asked in concern. You silently nodded in response. Tim wasted no time in sitting you down, pulling your legs into his lap and expertly working over the muscles like he used to while you were learning how to walk again.

"Thank you, sweetie." You sighed, already feeling your legs start to loosen up.

"There's no shame in feeling tired, [Y/N]. Most people don't have the strength or determination to even attempt to do this. We're almost there [Y/N]. I know you can find the strength in you to finish this." He encouraged lovingly. Soon enough the guide was prompting the group to get ready to continue forward up the mountain. Tim leaned over and placed a kiss on your forehead before. As you started ascending again Tim gave you a comforting squeeze of your hand and an encouraging smile.

You use Tim's encouragement to fuel the remaining stores of energy you have. You were determined to finish this and prove to yourself that you could literally do anything you wanted to. Finally after what felt like many long days of climbing, you did it. You fulfilled that little paralyzed girl's dream to one day climb Mount Everest and what's better is that you did it all with the love and encouragement of your soulmate.

"It's spectacular Tim!" You exclaimed looking at the world below you. You were at the top of the world and it felt amazing.

"I'm so proud of you." Tim said looking at you with his warm proud eyes. You turned and wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a deep kiss.

"I couldn't have done this without you, Tim." You whispered, cradling his cheek with your gloved hand. He shrugged and kissed the tip of your nose.

"Of course you could have." He insisted. For a while you and Tim just observe the sight of the mountain peacefully. After a good amount of time just holding each other, Tim separated himself from you and you looked at him with confusion. Silently, Tim gets down on one knee on the mountaintop and pulled out a small velvet box from his pack. You gasped in shock when he opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

"[Y/N] we've come so far together and I'm so proud of you." He started passionately. "Just a few short years ago you were trying your hardest to take your first steps and now we're at the top of the world doing what most people only dream of doing. I'm honored that you wanted me with you for every step of your journey and I want to be there for every moment of your future. [Y/N], will you marry me?" He asked with a hopeful smile. You nodded eagerly and threw yourself into his arms, knocking him backwards to the ground. Your body was positioned on top of him and you grabbed both sides of his face and brought him into a passionate kiss.

"Is that a yes?" He asked when you pulled away.

"Yes!" You nodded with happy tears in your eyes. The ascent group you had been with erupted in applause and enthusiastic cheers.
