The show started. The crowd was packed to the doors. Brendon took the middle and his instrumentalists accompanied them. I began to fiddle with my camera. I got the right setting for the camera on. I walked out onto the side stage and began to take pictures.
Brendon acknowledged my presence. He took the microphone off the stand and walked over to me, singing Nicotine. After many photos the song ended. Brendon walked over to the piano and I followed with the camera in my hand.
Brendon sat down on the piano and spoke into the microphone.
" So this is Lavinia Green everyone. She is a wonderful lady who will be following me around all night."
The crowd went wild. I felt like I was floating on a cloud with the spotlight and the crowd. I couldn't shake the smile off my face.
" My next song is Death of a Batchelor "
He began to play the piano and gave me a smile. The night continued with photos and smiles to each other.
He announced the final song.
" So I dedicate this next song to Lavinia because her work is amazing and she is so nice. Thank you for working with us and thank you for coming to the concert. Our final song is Nine in the Afternoon."
He knew I couldn't contain my excitement when he said that. He grabbed my hand and sung to me as we danced to the song. I took some photos with my free hand in the meantime. The song was over in seconds and the lights went out. He dragged me offstage and we stood there in the dark behind the curtains.
I put my camera on the table beside us and hugged him. Brendon smelled of sweat, peppermint and pine but it was soothing. His Miss Jackson coat was cold while his bare chest was hot. I didn't wanna let go.
Quincy coughed behind us and I was forced to pull away and turn around. His touch lingered on my skin.
Quincy, with a smirk etched on his face said " Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we need to head out. I'll see you in the car, L."
I turned around with a scowl and looked Brendon in the eye. He looked slightly disappointed. I grabbed my camera and looked back at him. He held his hand out, waiting for me to place my hand in his.
He got tired of waiting so he grabbed my hand and wrote his number on it.
" I swear if you don't call me I will contact Quincy and make you" He said with a sheepish smile. He hugged me one last time and let me walk away. I walked out of the venue and hopped into the car with Quincy.
He grabbed my hand and shrieked.
" I KNEW YOU WOULD LOVE HIM" He yelled as he put on the radio. I rolled my eyes and we drove away. I looked at the car door mirror and saw Brendon waving to us. I waved back and blew a kiss. I saw him laugh and then we took a corner. I lost sight of him after that.

I woke up at 10:30 to my alarm. My head pounded and I rubbed the leftover makeup off of my face. I looked at my hand. I put Brendon's number in my phone and got up. I got into the shower and just felt happy.
I got out, got changed into sweatpants and a Panic! shirt from last night. I put my hair up, brushed my teeth and got my shoes on. I had to be at the hospital at 11 for my first session of chemo.
I walked downstairs to say hello to Ruth but she wasn't there. A note was there saying that she closed the store today due to her falling ill with a cold. She could touch a pencil and get the bubonic plague. I fed her cats and got into my car.
I ate a granola bar and sipped my water as I drove to the hospital. I parked the car and went inside. The elevator door was open and I pressed the button to floor 3. The first floor was children, the second was the operating floor, the third was chemo/cancer, broken bones/severe injuries and the fourth was those who were on the edge of life or death. I walked out of the elevator and began my journey down the hall.
Not even 3 doors before my room, I saw somebody sitting in a chair holding their wrist. They were waiting for a doctor to get a cast I suppose. I began to walk by when I heard my name being called. I turned around thinking it was my nurse.
Shit.
That's Brendon.
He called my name.
