Wednesday was boring.  So was Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday and Monday and Tuesday.  It always was.

In the closet just outside my room, I found an old pillow and placed it on the windowceil, where I sat all day and finished one of the novels I read in secondary school once again.

Around 3:00, I noticed a figure walking down Rosy Court, a backpack on onside of her body and an earbud in the other.  When the wind blew back one of her dark curls with the vibrant red, I ran down the stairs and out to my front lawn.

Chill raced through my blood and my bare feet began to stick to the frosty ground.  She was too engaged in her music to have noticed me yet, so I picked at the weeds in the grass.  Hopefully it'd make my mum happy.  She began to move closer to her house, bobbing to the beat she blasted through her ears.

"Hey!"  I shouted as she started up her driveway, tagged along with a wave.

Remi smiled and headed my direction.  It seemed although it was already summer by the time she got here, embracing me in a hug when she finally crossed our white picket fence and into my arms.

"Hi."  She said.

"How was school?"

She turned away to look at her damaged, black sneakers.  "It was fine, I guess."

"Did you talk to anyone nice?  Any friends?"

"Uh, no not really."

Once I wrapped her into a hug again I said, "Don't worry you'll make some soon."

"It's okay if I don't.  Not really used to having them anyways."

"Well at least you have me."

Her sweet lips kissed mine gently, and backed away.  "Yes I do."

We stood there for a moment.  Two lost people in a city of stable souls.  We didn't talk or touch or look at anything except what was around us.  It was when I caught her tilting her head up to the sky that I said, "Can I take you out?"

"What?"  She quickly snapped her attention towards me.

"Yeah like a date?  Isn't that what people do?  When they, you know..."  I scratched the back of my neck searching desperately for sanity.

"When they like each other?"  She asked, slightly laughing, completely smiling.

"Yeah that."

"Yes, Harry.  I'd love to."

"Love to what?"  My hands began to tremble, like the first day we talked.  And the second.

"Go out with you!"

"Yes okay.. well let's go out."

"When?"  She asked.

"Friday?  Are you busy?"

"No."  She stuck her tongue slightly between her front teeth when she smiled again.  "Let's do it."

"Yeah let's do it."  I repeated.

"Well, bye?"

"Bye."

"See you Friday!"  She shouted as she began walking towards her home on the other side of the street.

"Yes!"  I called with pure happiness euphoria running within my tone.  "See you Friday."
