The room started swirling around me. It almost made me feel like I was riding along Alyssa on one of her ecstasy trips. The boots I hadn't bothered to replace since last Christmas paced me quickly outside to the fresh air that danced gracefully around my limbs.
A slow clicking of the heels sounded from across the street. As I looked up, I paired it to the sight of a petite girl with rich, chocolate, brown hair swirled with vibrant, red streaks.
She stood roughly a foot smaller than myself, slim and slender except for the slight bump around her hips. The girl crossed her arms and stared at me once she stopped at the bottom of her driveway.
"Hi." She spat.
"Hi."
"You new?" She asked.
"Um.." I paused for a minute. "No. Aren't you?"
She let a small laugh escape from her raspberry lips. "Yes, striped boy. I am."
My eyes traced her stare to my torso covered horizontally in straight, green lines. Mum told me it matched my sparkling eyes that I never saw the greatness in.
"Okay...red girl." My face displayed every shade of embarrassment as she laughed in disbelief at my horrible attempt of talking. With a girl.
"I need to," she grabbed onto the handles of a newly distributed garbage can. "go."
"Yeah, um sorry." My clammy palm scratched the curls behind my neck.
"I'll see you around?"
"I think."
Her tongue stuck out between her lips for a second when she laughed at the over six foot, uncomfortable, lean boy who happened to be myself.
"Bye-?"
"Harry."
"Harry?" She asked. "Nice name. "
I stuffed my hands in my pockets to keep them from twitching.
She dragged the can behind her up the driveway. It allowed me to examine the torn fishnet tights she wore, and forget about the heavy makeup she surrounded her eyes with. The shoes that clanked with her ever step were boots similar too mine, but with too many holes to match mine. A jet black skirt rose up to a length women on the street such as my mother or Diane would claim 'slutty". And I made sure to look the other way when she stepped up into her house. I could of sworn she looked back at me but I was already too busy making my way back home to notice.
~~Hi okay I'm not sure what to put here but hey hello sorry this is short I just wanted to get something up. I imagine the girl (you'll find out her name soon enough;) to be a more petite version of Hailee Steinfeld from True Grit, Romeo and Juliet, and Ender's Game. I have a huge girl crush on her so yeah and if you're reading you might as well vote ayeee hope you like it so far bye~~
