It felt so different to walk to someone to work. I never really have before, but it was alot of fun, for sure.
"Why did you come to the store anyways? You don't exactly seem like the music type." I asked while laughing.
He looked like that popular jock guy that's at every school, the one that everyone likes and literally worships because he's the most popular kid in the whole school.
"Aha, I don't know. Just felt like some new music I guess." He said back.
-later-
for almost the whole day, he stayed with me. It almost felt like we worked there, like he was my co-worker.
After that all the costumers had left the store, it was just me and him.
"I forgot to ask, what's your name?" I asked, I couldn't believe I didn't even know his name.
"Shawn." He said and smirked a little.
"I'm Rebeca." I responded.
"So what do you do here? Like when all the costumers are gone, and your just here." He asked scanning the isles of music.
"Just sit back and relax, I suppose." I said. Well I didn't really know what I did. I just kind of, made myself at home.
Shawn grabbed an album from a shelf.
"Want to listen to some music?" He asked.
I never even thought about doing that, but why not, right?
"Sure! Why not!" I called.
Shawn rushed to the mini radio across the room. He put in the album and the music started playing. It was kind of a loud, pop, dance song.
I had no idea what happened, but we ended up laughing and dancing together. That was the coolest thing I had ever done in that old, music shop.
I had a huge smile on my face, so did he.
Once the song was over I looked up at the clock.
"Store closes soon, we should start packing up." I said.
"Me? Sorry, I don't work here." He said, teasing me.
I giggled a bit.
Shawn and I started packing up, grabbed our bags and walked back home. Once we made it to my house I turned and said goodbye.
"Wait!" Shawn yelled while I was making my way up the stairs at the entrance of my house. I turned around.
"What?" I asked, confused.
He ran up to me and gave me a little slit of paper.
"You almost forgot this. Anyways bye!" he immediately ran away before I could
tell him it wasn't mine, at least I didn't think it was.
I flipped over the paper, and a phone number was on the back. I just smiled, he gave me his number.
I ran inside the house and bursted into my room. I immediately put the number into my contacts. I was afraid to text him, aren't you supposed to wait a night or something? I wasn't sure to just text him right away, well I really wanted to, or just to let it wait for a bit.
"Hey." I texted him, already regretting what I sent.
"Hey, Its Rebeca right?" He texted back.
"Yeah. So what's up?" I texted back.
"Not much. Hey you busy tonight?" He texted back quickly.
I didn't think I was, plus even if I was, I would rather go out with a friend than do something boring.
"Don't think so, why?" I texted back after thinking it over.
"Good. Come to the music store at 9:00 tonight." He texted back, probably not even realizing he just asked me out.
"Ok! See you there." I texted back, trying to keep it cool.
"See ya."
I wanted to scream! I was just asked out by a super, super hot guy, who actually seems to like me. Honestly, I had no idea if I liked him, but whenever I thought about him I just, smiled.
I ran to my closet and grabbed out some nice clothes. I grabbed a maroon t-shirt, some jean shorts, and my white and black adidas.
I went to my bathroom and got out my makeup. I got dressed then started applying mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick to my face. While I was getting ready, I turned on some music on my phone. I started playing some Justin Bieber.
By the time I was done, it was 8:30.
"Mom I'm going out with a friend! Bye!!" I yelled and ran out the door. I started walking to the music store.
I saw Shawn standing outside of the store on his phone.
"Oh hey!" He said right when he spotted me.
"Hi." I said and smiled.
"So uh, where we going?" I asked curiously, I had no idea.
"Just follow me." He said and grabbed my hand.
we walked down a small grassy hill, which led to a field. The sun was setting, it was beautiful sight.
We both sat down on the grass and just watched the mysterious, pink, and yellow sky set.
"This is why I brought you here." He said and turned to me.
"It's beautiful." I said, well that's all I could say.
"Do you sing? I forgot to ask before." I asked, I mean why else would he come to a music store?
"Yeah, a bit I guess." He said shyly.
"Can I hear you sing?" I asked.
"I'm bad. I'll break your eardrums." He said.
I laughed a bit.
"No joke!" He warned.
"Just sing you idiot!" I said, still laughing.
He took a deep breath in and started singing, beautifully.
"Holy shit, you never told me you were that good!" I said in shock.
"Shut up." He said laughing.
"Seriously Shawn, did you write that?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's just a hobby I guess."
"You should be a singer, like on the radio!" I said, I really did mean it too. His voice was so soft, yet so powerful. It was truly amazing.
"What about you? Do you sing?" He asked.
"Sorta." I said back, I didn't really sing much.
"I sang for you, c'mon sing for me."
"No way! I've never sang infront of anyone before." I exclaimed.
"Then why don't i be the first?" He said and smirked.
This kid wouldn't stop pushing me to sing, I mean I'm not that great either! I built up my courage and sang a song.
"Holy shit." He said.
"I know, I suck." I said, already knowing I wasn't as good as him.
"That was amazing, do you sing for a living or something?" He asked.
"No!!" I said laughing.
"I'm just a dorky girl who works at a music store on the weekends, I guess." I said, trying to describe myself.
"I like that about you, all of that stuff, it makes you, you. And I like you." He said and smiled.
I blushed a bit. That was the nicest thing he, or anyone has ever said to me. The words 'i like you' wandered my mind for the rest of the night. What did he mean by that? Or did he mean anything at all?
"It's getting late. Maybe I should go home." I said. My mom was probably wondering where I was at 11:30 at night.
"Ok, mind if I walk with you? Since I have to walk that way anyways." He said.
"Of course!" I said and smiled.
It was very cold. The chilly air brushed through my hair. I had a little shiver, Shawn noticed.
"Here take my jacket." He said. He removed his jacket and placed it on me.
That was the first thing either of us said this entire walk home.
"No, you'll get cold." I said looking at him.
"Take it." He said refusing it when I tried to give it back.
A few minutes later I spotted my house. We both stood in front of the stairs. "Thanks so much for a great night." I said and hugged him.
"Your house is really big!" He said gazing at my house.
"Nah, it's not much. Hey you wanna come in?" I asked. I'm sure my mom would be fine with it. The only problem is my mom would probably think we were dating or something, well, let's home not.
"Really?" He asked surprised by what I asked.
"Of course, here follow me." I said smiling.
I opened the door to my mom reading a book, and my dad sleeping.
"Hey mom, this is my friend Shawn." I said and Shawn waved at her.
"Hi sweetie! Lovely to meet you Shawn." My mom said and gave him a welcoming smile.
"Your father just fell asleep, long day at work for him. Shawn can stay as long as he likes." She said.
I guided Shawn to my room.
"Cool room." He said and jumped on my bed.
I closed my door. My room was pretty small, but I guess he thought it was somewhat 'cool'.
"My rooms pretty small, but I guess it's okay." I said shrugging.
"So, how long have you lived here?" He asked.
I jumped on the bed and laid beside him before answering. "All my life." I said staring at the roof. He moved to his side and just looked at me.
"What?" I asked giggling. He just kept looking and smiled.
"Your beautiful." He said and looked at me with his dreamy hazel eyes.
I immediately flushed red, did he really mean that? It was crazy, it seemed like maybe, just maybe, he liked me, or maybe even loved me.
I turned to my side.
"Haha no." I said back laughing.
"Seriously. I meant that." He said being serious.
I was surprised, I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't.
"Well your very handsome." I said in a jokey voice. He laughed and replied with "I get that a lot."
I threw a pillow at him. We both just laughed and layed back down. He turned his head to me. We both just smiled, I never wanted this to end, I don't think he did either.
