This begins where all stories begin of course in the Enchanted forest. That's where most of the stories start out at and as good as any place to start right? The common starting place for many tales.

Rose had magic and she also was well acquainted with the enchanted woods very well. The woods was her second home after all. After exploring many different locations there she learned every great hiding spot as one does while being in a forest as a child and then growing into a young adult.

Well most of the time it was her home. The other time was spent in the castle. She loved the forest because it just sang to her. She also loved the people. The castle was her home just as much as the Forest was. This was a great place for her to develop her powers. She had very strong magic. She practiced daily so that when she had to defend herself she was ready. Magic was sometimes frowned upon, but it was oh so powerful if used correctly.

She would be out practicing most days for quite some time. She has wanted to be strong. She craved this power.
Her father had magic, and her parents knew that Rose had it. She wielded such power. Some were very afraid of it and others were not afraid since they knew her so well. This magic was met with disapproval, yet it's potential was outstanding. Especially, from Rose who had be committed to regular practice.
They kept it a secret though. Having magic was seen as a terrible thing. It was a curse to some and brought them sorrow.
This family though loved their daughter. They encouraged, Rose to practice, so she would be able to wield her magic when she wanted to.
This however, did not go unnoticed someone was watching her. She felt the presence, but decided to leave well enough alone. If they wanted to meet her then they would show themselves. No one ever did. Many years went by.
Rose became a hunter, she knew the forest well. The forest was always full of sounds and teaming with life.
Something was wrong though. Today it was usually quiet.
" What is wrong with the forest today, something is amiss."
Rose touched the trees, she could see the the whole forest. Something new was hiding. It was small and making noises. It wasn't anything that Rose has ever seen before, not up close at least. Dragons didn't typically wander into this part of the forest. They stayed out of human areas.
This one was different. It was small for a dragon, but still fierce enough to take a bite out of something and had big eyes. Your faithful horse, was big and black. He stayed right by you even when meeting this new creature. Neither were afraid, just more curious.
" I can't keep you in the castle, but there's a cave nearby that would be a perfect hiding place.
Rose carried the dragon up with her. It was very small.
On the way to the cave someone stopped you.
" Who goes there? Show yourself. You have been hiding in those shadows for quite some time why?"
The figure stepped out of the shadows.
" My, my so full of questions dearie.
I'm here to make a deal why else."
A deal? This was Rumplestiltskin everyone knew he was the dark one and always wanted to make deals.
"What do you want? I know who you are Rumplestiltskin." Rose said sternly. She was tough she didn't want to be seen as anything else but strong.
Appearances were everything. Especially first appearances.

" To train you of course, I've watched you and your powerful magic." She eyed him carefully. She wasn't afraid more annoyed that he was taking her time. " and why would you want to do that? You make deals don't you to make yourself more powerful? I know you." She slid off her horse, but left the dragon next to the horse.
" Ah dearie, you don't know me. I could use someone powerful like yourself at my side. We could make deals together and be even more powerful." He stood there. This would be great their power combined would be unstoppable. He watched her beasts carefully as they were very protective of their owner.
He could use her magic with his and make the deals. They would just be more potent. He really didn't need the help, but her power was enticing.
" So do we have a deal?" He waited for her response. He didn't like to wait.
She wanted to become stronger and help rule her kingdom. Was not polite to keep her guest waiting after all.
" Alright, you have a deal. Where do we begin? And what about the evil queen? She's threatened us all recently in fact. She paid our kingdom a visit."
That queen made her angry.
" I see. Well our goals are the same then. We both want power. You want to out smart the queen? Don't you?"
He paced around. "That won't be an easy task. The queen is smart and has done terrible things with her magic. Her mother keeps hearts in her dungeon."
Rose gasped. "Actual hearts?"
She smirked. "Well Rumplestiltskin if you want my help, here's my end of the deal. No killing innocents, and no taking hearts. Those are my terms, and no you can't harm either of my beasts either."
That was the deal right there. The power was too tempting.
"I don't normally bargain with deals, but our power can accomplish so much. We start training tomorrow deep in the forest. Sleep well, dearie."
Then poof he was gone in a flash with the use of his spell.
She just made a deal with rumplestiltskin of all people. What was she thinking? What would he want in the future? Magic always came at a price. Especially making a deal with the Dark One.

Well she wanted to become stronger though and he wanted to combine their magic. He didn't need her, but she needed his expertise to go after the evil queen.
The evil queen threatened their kingdom, Regina, she over stepped her boundaries. Rose thought to herself. This part was ruled by her and her family. Regina was queen, but had no business here, except to cause trouble. Telling them all of her impending curse.
No one knew what that curse was except that it was on its way.

As the story unfolds, Rose's journey intertwines with the challenges and complexities of her magical gift.
