My only hope is that he is alright. The last thing I wanted was to tell my parents what happened.

I climb out of bed and walk over to him, kneeling down beside him. His chest moves up and down slightly, so I know that he is still alive. He looks so peaceful that I almost don't want to wake him, but I have to get him off the floor and make him leave before my parents find out he is here.

I gently shake him. "Jordan?"

He doesn't open his eyes at all or responds. I shake him again.

"Go away," he mumbles without opening his eyes.

"No, I'm not going away. I need you to wake up."

"Why? It's Saturday."

"No, it's Thursday. Now get up or we'll both be late for school."

He opens his eyes. As soon as he sees me, he sits up in a hurry. Shock and confusion appear on his face as he looks around at his surroundings.

"Where am I?" he asks. "How did I get here?"

"Don't you remember? You passed out on my front lawn, so I brought you inside to rest."

"Why did you do that for?"

I shrug. Truthfully, I don't know why I did it. "It just seemed like the right thing to do."

"Just like how tutoring me is the right thing to do? Which you're only doing for extra credit. Is this part of your extra credit as well? Allowing a drunk person to sleep on your bedroom floor?"

I want to say something, but I have no words. And even if I do say something, what's the point? Jordan doesn't want to hear it. Mr. Heckenberg may want me to help him, Jordan definitely doesn't want help. It's like he wants to fail.

Jordan chuckles. "What's the matter, Mary-Kate? You have nothing to say?"

I frown at him. "Get out of my room."

"Glad to," he says with a cocky smile.

He makes his way to the door, but I grab his arm before he can leave.

"No! Not out that way!" I cry out. "My parents are probably up."

He turns to me, smirking. "What's the matter, Mary-Kate? Don't you want your parents to know that you let a boy sleep in your room all night?"

I place one hand on my hip and point with the other one at my window. "Get out. Now."

He climbs onto a tree branch outside my window and climbs down. Once he reaches the bottom, I realise that he has forgotten his skateboard. I was about to shout out to him, but kept my mouth shut. My parents will hear me if I call out to them. Besides, he was already gone. I close the window and walk over to his skateboard, picking it up and stare at it in my hands. How am I going to give this back to him without being verbal abused by him?

I push Jordan aside. He isn't worth worrying about. Right now, I need to get ready for school before I'm late.

I take the skateboard with me so I could hand it back to Jordan later. Somehow, I will have to avoid Kyle so he doesn't see me with it. I know what he will say if I carry this with me. It's bad enough he was mad at me last night and I don't want him to continue being mad.

People greet me in the corridors and I politely return the greetings. I look around for Jordan. I don't know why I search for him. I mean, it's not like he is even going to bother showing up early to school. I wonder if he went home or not after he left my place. Even if he didn't show it at my house, he probably has a hangover.
