Effy's POV

My mom's scream took over the room and that's when I knew he was gone;I gasped loudly and looked up. My breath forcing it's way back into my throat and I detached myself from the curtain and fell on the bed-my mom looked at me with wild blue eyes.

"Why so tense mom?" I asked and unwrapped the blanket from around my waist.

"I-I.. What the hell! Elizabeth is this suppose to be a sick  joke?!" she yelled.

I wiped the blue makeup off with the back of my hand and looked up at her. "It was supposed to be a project for suicide awareness."

"Well, You scared the shit out of me!" she said with every hint of fear and anger in her voice. My mother don't cuss much, only when she's seriously pissed off or you scared her bad enough.

"I'm sorry." I said softly and run a hand in my hair, tugging small strands behind my ear.

My mom's eyes soften and sighed. "I'm sorry Effy. It's just I-your father and I are worried about you."

"I'm okay Mom. Really, I just..lost myself these passed few weeks." I said  quietly but it was loud enough for ear shot. (Also committed four murders with my ex-boyfriend.)

"Come, the food will get cold." she said anxiously before leaving the room. I sighed and laid back on my  bed. I turned my head and noticed the gun by the window- I got up to retrieve it; I knew this gun. JD used this gun on Kurt and Ram in the Cafe weeks ago, I doubt in this gun there's blanks.

"Effy!" My dad yelled impatiently.

"Coming!" I yelled back and hid the gun under my mattress before jogging out the room, hearing my stocking feet hitting the wood softly.

****

Walking into the front doors of  Westerburg High, I felt like I was entering a battlefield. I kept looking around to see if JD came in early, I didn't find a soul of him. (If the fucker even had a soul.)

"Elizabeth!" Someone cried. "JD said you committed suicide last night." I turned around to see the bug eyes of Ms Flemming.

"Where is he? Where's JD?" I asked.

"We need to talk." She says too softly. "Deciding whether or not to kill yourself is the biggest decision a teenager could make."

I scrunched my nose in disgust and said irritably "Get a job." I walked away and didn't look back.

I saw JD coming in through the doors, I immediately sprint up the stairs to the girls bathroom-I hid in the stall even though I knew he can't come in but JD could still see me whenever the door opens. I heard the door open then closed with a loud shut, red shoes going up to the sink. Probably one of the cheerleaders. I heard the door open and closed; the red shoes disappear through the door. I slowly open the stall, I walked out and stared at the door until another girl came in. The door opened and JD was walking out the boys bathroom with a duffel bag and his headphones over his ears. I immediately hid back in the stall, I waited patiently until the other girl left as soon as I heard the door open and closed again-I peeked out the stall door. There's no one there, I sprint out the bathroom and noticed everyone going towards the end of the hall where the gym is. I followed the sea of students until I noticed a recognizable face.

"Rodney! What's going on?"

Rodney smiled his cheesy smile, he reminded me of a rat sometimes with the crazy red hair. "It's Friday, the pep rally is today."

"Shit...Another pep rally."

"These things are pretty artificial but at least you get out of class." he says as he takes off his glass, which are colorful and kuse-like.
