26.Waiting

They all take a few breathers after the events that just happened. They didn't know how to process it. Mark killed somebody, how do they look at him the same way?

"Guys, what if they come back?"Jeno finally speaks up. "I shoot them in the face. I'm not letting them hurt any of you"Mark says in a caring voice. "We're all in this together. If you stay behind, so do we"Jaemin says and Mark half smiles at him.

Jisung sits up and says "Guys...". Everyone everts there attention to him and he continues, "c-can I tell you what happened? If this is the last time we all get to talk then...then I think you should know". Jeno puts a hand on his shoulders and Mark says "Only if you want to".

Everyone sits on the floor infront of Jisung and looks up at him in silence. Jisung explains, "After I went with him he took me to the main office. I was wondering why I was there but then he hit me over the head and I was unconscious. I woke up chained to the wall in the basement. Then he came. He...he kissed me but I just kept crying. He didn't like that and so he beat me unconscious again. I don't know what happened after that but then I woke up to you guys".

Jeno hugged Jisung tightly and Jaemins eyes went wide. Chenle looked over at Renjun and hugged him. "Wow"Haechan whispered under his breath and Mark rubbed the back of his neck.

"We have each other now so that's all that matters"Mark says as he stands up. "Thank you for telling us Jisung" Mark then says and squeezes Jisungs shoulder gently.

"Since Jisung said that, I think I should confess something too"Haechan says and springs to his feet. Everyone looks at him in silence and he continues cautiously, "I uh..okay okay here's it just straight up. Mark, I like you. Like like you. I have for a long time but don't show it. Or try to at least".

"Uh..."Mark says as he looks around the room awkwardly. Haechan takes a deep sigh and then seats down again. Mark rubs the back of his neck again and says "Haechan, to be honest....I like you too".

Haechan looks at Mark with a shocked expression and and says in an high pitched voice "really?!?!". Mark nods then walks over to an empty bed and lays on it. "I'm going to sleep. If anything happens, wake me" he says.

"Congrats"Renjun says to Haechan and Haechan starts smiling like an idiot. "Junnie, do you think we're going to be safe?" Chenle asks and Renjun looks at him "Honestly, I don't know" Renjun says. Chenle hugs Renjun again and then goes to a corner. He takes a blanket from one of the bed and lays down.

"Good night LeLe" Renjun says with a soft smile. "You should sleep too"Haechan says to Renjun. "Guess you're right. But wait, should one of us keep watch just in case?"Renjun says. "I will"Jeno says and picks up Marks gun from the floor. "Alright~ Good night"Renjun says and walks over to Chenle and snuggles to sleep with him.

"Why do you want to stay guard?"Haechan asks. "Mark has been through allot today so I want to try to be as strong as him"Jeno says and looks over and Jisung. Jisung is now fast asleep snuggling a pillow.

"You treat him so well"Haechan says. "Thanks. I just....I wish I could have stopped Jain like Mark did. I'm a coward for that"Jeno says as he fiddled with the gun a bit. "No you're not. You're brave. Mark protects us all as if we where family. You come in second, you always protect us when Mark isnt able to"Haechan says and grabs a blanket and pillow.

Jeno sighs and Haechan then says, "wake me in a little and I'll stand guard. Good night". Jeno nods and says "Good night". Jeno sits in the middle of the cabin and gets lost in thought.

He looks over and Jisung who is tossing and turning. "I will protect you"He whispers.
