When we got back there she was. Jess! Curled up in her open tent. "What the?" I shouted. I rushed towards her but Stephen stopped me and whispered, "they are all asleep remember". While he got in out tent I zipped up Jess's, oh so quietly so I didn't wake her. I never knew tent zips were this loud!
The next morning was weirdly normal. Jess and I cooked breakfast while Kadon and Stephen wee still snoring in their tents and Summer was 'getting ready' God only knows why. Harry was setting up the table for us. "Does Stephen eat egg?" Jess asked as she cracked them in the pan, "of course, he eats anything remember" I replied with a chuckle "it's Harry that doesn't". Once breakfast was cooked and on the fold up table, Stephen and Kadon slipped out their tent and everyone joined us at the table. We all looked hungry and didn't want to speak about last night. It was the perfect last day, the sun was still red hot even though it was late afternoon. We were all in the lake wearing our swimming wear and cooling off from the sun's hot raise. Stephen swam under me and without me knowing, picked me up by my legs and threw me right out the water and I landed back in it with a slash. When I rose back up Kadon asked "do any of you smell wet dog?" as he sniffed the air. "No, I don't!" Jess said quickly as she sat on a rock by the side of the lake. The water was so clear, I could see little fish swimming at my feet.
A couple of hours later it was night time and it was pitch black again. Jess and I started walking to the showers to try and get there before the boys, they take forever! "I cant believe we go back tomorrow" I said. Jess just nodded, gripping her wash bag tight to her chest. To me she looked a little worried about something, I didn't question it though. For the first time there wasnt a line for the showers and luckily there were two next to each other.
While in the showers Jess still wasnt talking, we always talked in the campsite showers. That's what made it fun and some how less disgusting. The smell of the showers was awful. Jess use to bring her air freshener and spray both of the shower cubicles before we go in but I don't think she bright it this time. "Oh God, it stinks in here" I said with my fingers over my nose, Jess giggled at least she found it funny.
After I conditioned my hair I took a deep in hail though my nose "ew!" I couldn't smell the showers anymore but a strong smell of wet dog ran up my nostrils. "Can you smell that?" I asked Jess as I stepped out my shower with a large pink towel wrapped round me. "Smell what?" she asked back, still in her cubical. I wrinkled up my nose and reached in my disgusting shower for my wash bag.Moments later we were both dry and Jess was putting her hair in a long plat. "Ready?" Jess asked, grabbing her stuff. "Yeah when you are" I smiled as he started walking back to the tents. "Full moon again" I pointed out while we were walking. She seemed quiet again. I didn't like it, I knew something was wrong with her. We started walking through the forest part to get back to the tents. It became cold, I felt a shudder right up the back on my spine. The trees moaned in the wind, it suddenly got even darker as the moon light appeared. I have to admit I was a little scared. There were crispy leaves at my feet as they blew off the trees. I could hear owls too, that smell of wet dog still lingering up my nose, it was so strong I could almost taste it.
