The only thing I could hear as I laid in the darkness of my room was the soft buzz of my fan and the heavy beating of my own heart against my chest. In the window a crossed from me I could make out a strange figure about 20 feet away. It was much taller than any human I've ever seen and it had a pair of glowing red eyes staring straight at me. The only sign of movement from it to signal life was the slow crunching of leaves as it slowly walked closer to my window.
"Just go to sleep.." I muttered to myself, scrunching my eyes closed to no avail. I knew I was too terrified to sleep. The only option I had was to wait and hope for it to go away when the sun rose.
It was merely ten feet away now. Close enough for me to see its gaping mouth with sharp needle like fangs poking out. It's skin was translucent and white, like parchment stretched over bone. The glowing red eyes were still fixed on me.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. It came closer and closer to me until it was only an inch away from the musty glass of my window. I thought I saw it smile as it slowly lifted its bony hands and bashed them angrily against the glass. I bit my lip to try not to scream and covered my head with my blanket.
The banging got louder and louder until I thought the house itself would fall apart. Then it stopped. I held my breath until I heard the fading crunches of footsteps and sighed in relief. It was over.
Just as I was about to try and sleep, I heard the front door creep open and a pair of glowing red eyes stare at me from the narrow hallway.
