I snuck out into the courtyard for some air. I left Vlad inside chatting to my dad about the coming months. They were getting along so well I felt like the third wheel. Smiling to myself I let my feet wander and before I knew it I was outside the gates.
Snow began to fall again and I spun in the swirling snowflakes. Vlad grabbed me from behind as my feet slipped on some ice. I giggled wrapping my arms round his neck. I traced the little wolf on his neck and sighed.
"Want to take this up in our chambers?" Vlad asked his eyes hungry with passion. I could feel him holding back from me.
"Tonight I'm all yours," I teased him. He scooped me up in his arms and carried me back inside. We passed the last remaining guests in the entrance hall. Vlad didn't seem to notice them as he headed up the stairs.
Once alone in our room he put me down and didn't hold back. He kissed me with such force that I feared I may fall backwards but his hands held me with a gentle strength.
"Are you sure you want to do this now?" I nodded knowing that despite the last few days every part of me craved him. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around him. He carried me to the bed and then it began.
The pain surged through me starting from my stomach. I screamed, Vlad pulled himself off me and looked around in a panic.
"What's wrong!?" He yelled over my screams.
"I don't know, it hurts!" I continued to scream. I suddenly couldn't see him. "Vlad!" It was like my body was burning from the inside out. Where was he?
"I'm here," Vlad appeared beside me but didn't touch me. Angie was there and Ingrid, none of them touched me. I kept screaming as there was nothing else I could do.
"Ingrid please get me my bag, I'm gonna have to sedate her."
"No, no" I screamed.
"I'm sorry sweetie," she had needle and syringe.

I stroked her hair back behind her ear, Jacinta was sleeping peacefully. It took two shots to sedate her as Lena her wolf had tried to get through. Angie was now concluding her examination of her. Jacinta sighed in her sleep, her body shivered.
"What's wrong with her?" I asked Angie.
"As far as I can see her body is fighting a part of Blane's darkness, probably from when he raped her." She packed up the rest of her things, "I can't do anything for her but I have an old friend that may know something." She placed a hand on my shoulder. "I promise we'll do everything and anything that we can to help." She picked up her bag and left.
I sat back down beside Jacinta, my beautiful she wolf was suffering and I couldn't do anything. Even after his death Blane was hurting us. "Just sleep my love," I whispered to her.
There was a quiet tapping on the door and Callum her dad came in. He was still in his shirt and trousers from the wedding. His hair was a mess from waiting in the corridor for over 2 hours. Angie had insisted he stay out and only allow me in.
"How is she?" He asked sitting on the other side of her.
"Sleeping, did Angie tell you anything?" He nodded. "I'm sorry, if I'd just left her alone she wouldn't be like this."
"When her mother died I blamed myself. As an alpha I should have seen the danger sooner. As a husband and father I should have been able to save them both. So please as her husband do what I never could, protect and save her from now on." I nodded at him. He had tears in his eyes and he was holding her hand. He wiped his eyes and said, "I'm taking the pack home tomorrow."
"So soon?"
"They miss England and there is nothing we can do here."
"Of course."
"Also one day she'll have to take her place as the alpha or appoint someone to stand for her."
"Understood, I'll go where she wants to go."
Callum stood up and left me with her. Ingrid could handle things if Jacinta wanted to go home but right now she couldn't possibly go anywhere.
