I sat bolt up right in the four poster bed, my heart racing and my head pounding. I stroked my neck where he'd bit down hard and shivered. I felt sick, I swung my legs from underneath the blankets and stood up out of the bed.
On the small table a tray of food had been left. Ingrid had definitely left it as there was a chocolate cupcake and glass of milk in ice. I took a sip of milk and retrieved 'Alice in wonderland' and sat in the armchair by the window. I wondered how long I'd been asleep as the nightmare had seemed very short.
I walked over to the window and peered through the curtains. Pitch black night blanketed the gardens of the manor. I must have been asleep for at least seven or eight hours.
A sudden loud bang made me jump out of my skin. I pulled on a hoodie and padded out into the dark corridor. There were a few lights on but the gloom clung to every corner and crevice. I headed to the grand staircase where the large bang had come from.
I hadn't heard anything else since that and I was beginning to have fear creep up my spine. Tiptoeing I reached the stairs, there was a cool strong breeze blowing through. I climbed down the stairs to find the huge oak doors wide open, they were too heavy for me to move.
Peering out into the night I couldn't see anything but a few lamps doted around the gardens. I was startled to the sound of muffled yelling, so I followed the voices. As I got closer to the library the voices became more distinct.
"She's safe and sound. She's asleep upstairs, although your grand entrance may have woken her up!" Ingrid's voice was raised but very calm.
"Ingrid I need to see her," Blane. Blane was here. I ran through the doors and paused only to find him in the room. "Jacinta," he breathed. We ran to each other and he held me.
Happiness surged through me and I realised how exhausted and drained I was. My body relaxed completely and i collapsed in his arms.
"She's lost weight," he said to Ingrid and Quincey.
"She lost her appetite soon after we arrived," Alex was in the corner by the huge window.
He scooped me up and looked me dead in the eye with a worried expression, "you must eat but sleep might help." He turned to his sister, "could you bring her something to eat?"
"Of course." She nodded and vanished. Blane held me gently to his chest and carried me back upstairs.
Once in the room alone he placed a kiss on my forehead. Then he looked at me warmth filled his eyes and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt overwhelmed with happiness to be in his arms again.
He leaned down kissing my lips I pulled him closer as he carried me over to the small table and swiped the tray off. He sat me in the edge and I wrapped my legs round his waist. Urges I'd never felt were rushing through me, my whole body craved his. He kept his lips on mine his tongue exploring my mouth.
Blane looked me over his eyes glowing in the shadows of the room. Then peeled his top off, I did the same. He pressed me close to his bare chest, my heart raced. We enveloped each other and instinct took over.
