Chapter 2: Josh's surprise

Life gets good at times. After you get through the storm theres a rainbow before the next storm. Just enjoy that rainbow while you have it.

I nervously sat at the wheel of the car, preparing myself to drive after such a long time. I was scared since last time I drove I crashed. That was back when I was very close with ex best friend Abby. Spencer sat next to me on his phone.

"Get the hell off of that thing and make sure I dont kill us!" I aggressively yelled as I snatched his phone and threw it under my seat.

"Sorry. Okay just breathe, relax, and don't crash my car." Spencer looked down at his nails and began to play with them. It was as if I was being accompanied by a wall. Josh was out doing interviews and I was desperate to get behind the wheel again. I slowly turned on the car and began to drive slowly around the empty neighborhood. Everything seemed okay.

"NATALIE WATCH OUT FOR THAT CAT!" I immediately freaked out and turned off the car. Spencer was laughing.

"You fucking jerk!" I angrily punched him in the arm and drove back angrily to the house. "You suck, don't even talk to me" I walked away quickly from Spencer as he remained laughing.

As I marched into the house, I saw Josh sitting at the table on his laptop.

"Your ass of a friend thought it would be funny to scare the crap out of me." I exclaimed, walking to the fridge to get water.

"Aye it was hilarious okay. I should of recorded, haha." Spencer started to laugh again, making me want to punch him again.

"Spencer be nice. I'll help you drive next time Natalie." Josh carelessly spoke as he typed on his laptop. I stuck my tongue out at Spencer as he ran to me and tickled me till I fell on the floor of laughter.

"Get away from me I'm still mad!" I yelled trying not to laugh. After all that had happened before, Spencer was one of my best friends that was annoying as hell but still an amazing friend.

"I have amazing news for you sleeping beauty." Josh grinned as he closed his laptop.

"We agreed that you would never call me that again! And I love good news." I talked with slight laughter as I sat on his lap.

"So since your... a, um orphan now, you need to be under the care of a guardian. Since Spencer is 21, I sent an email to the child services thing a few days ago. Because all your living relatives are out of state, they allowed Spencer to be your guardian. So, you legally live here now" Josh smiled as he put his forehead against mine and looked at my eyes.

"Oh my gosh, I thought they would sent me to Mexico! This is wonderful!" I smiled and softly kissed Josh's lips.

"Great, I'm your legal guardian. How much horrible could life get." Spencer joked as he rolled his eyes.

"Well I got myself a hot date with Macey tonight. Be good kids." Spencer chuckled as he walked out.

"It's Friday and I actually had some plans for us but only if you are okay with them." Josh smiled and spoke in a soft tone.

"Just surprise me." I smiled and got up.

"Okay just get on my motorcycle, don't get ready or anything." Josh grinned as he went for his motorcycle keys.

"It's dark. Are you sure we should go on your motorcycle?" I questioned as I put on a helmet.

"Just trust me." He smiled as he sat in front of me and started the motorcycle. It was about 7 and it was September 6th. My birthday was in a week and I was so excited to turn 17.

We arrived at some studio, it wasn't huge but it looked expensive. As we walked in Josh talked to the girl at the front desk.

"I'ma go get ready. Your stylist will be here in a bit. Her name is Scarlett, she's been here for a few weeks but I hear shes great." Josh hurried off, leaving me in confusion. Woah stylist? My Scarlett from starbucks? Where was he going to take me?

"Oh my gosh! Natalie!" Scarlett, the beautiful freckled redhead ran up to me and hugged me.

"Your Josh Hutcherson's girlfriend?! Why are you working if he's like rich?" Scarlett looked at me amazed.

"Haha yeah. I don't want his money, I like earning things for myself on my own." I grinned as I looked at the floor, kind of stunned by the idea that i really am Josh Hutcherson's girlfriend.

"Let's get you ready! Oh and I work part time here and part time at starbucks if you were wondering." Scarlett grabbed my wrist and led me to a dressing room with 3 more people. I sat down without question, trying to stop myself from asking what I was getting ready for. I didn't want to ruin Josh's "surprise". The people immediately did my hair, make up, nails, It was so cool. Scarlett told them exactly what to do to me.

"Okay Natalie, try on these 4 dresses and tell me which one you like the most." Scarlett excitingly smiled as she opened the huge closet that revealed 4 beautiful dresses. They were similar in color, I was guessing that they had to got with my make up and hair. I anxiously tried them all on and picked a navy gown with a crystal top and a small slit peekaboo at the legs.

"I didn't want to ask but I seriously want to know what all of this is for?" My curiosity broke me and I asked.

"You don't seem to realize how freaking lucky you are, your going to a movie premiere! Cameras, celebrities, excitement! " Scarlett smiled as she jumped up and down.

"Hell no!" I got up and walked out the room barefoot in panic. "Wheres Josh!" I yelled at the girl at the front desk.

"Sorry I'm not allowed to tell anyone where our clients are." She talked without looking at me, she was concentrated on some papers.

"Just tell me where the fu-" I almost lost it.

"Woah you look good." Josh smirked.

"I'm sorry but I absolutely hate being with people. I'm awkward and horrible at making friends. They'll hate me just like everyone at school always has!" I talked quickly with panic as I turned away from him so he wouldn't see me crying.

"I'm sorry, I should have to asked you fir- are you crying?" He walked near me and softly moved my face towards him.

"I just hate getting picked on. I hate having people call me names and just hating me for no reason. I've been dealing with it all my life and I just, i'm not even sure why your with me. You could get any girl and you pick the awkward, ugly girl?" I continued to cry. I tried my best to hold them back but there was a lump in my throat that hurt and caused my tears to spill.

"I'm with you because your different. I love your awkwardness and every single thing about you. Those people that bullied you are at home, doing nothing while your here getting ready for a movie premier. I don't want any girl, I want you." He hugged me tightly for a few minutes as I finished sobbing.

"We don't have to go, its okay." Josh smiled as he kissed my forehead.

"Everything you say is so wow. How do you do it??" I giggled as I held his hands. "And I want to go, for you" I smiled my tears away and kissed him. I would just try to avoid anyone and just have a good time with him. Ehh pictures, I guess some would be nice. I was extremely nervous but i owed it to Josh to do something that he liked so I decided to go.
