Chapter 13

Killian POV - 4 Months Later

Dad had hit the date they had giving him to live, but wasn't giving up just yet. Fighting till his last breath. Some days I even forgot he was sick, him being the happy go lucky guy I remembered but others were very hard. Him laying in bed all day, coughing and in pain. I hoped today was a good day, at least for Emma's sake, with the pregnancy her emotions were all over the place. 

"Ready to find out?" I say rubbing Emma's now 5 month belly, we are finally finding out our child's gender. We had actual found out Belle was having a boy, so I thought it would be get it we did also. "I don't know, sort of want a surprise" she shyly said "Really?" Emma nods "Why don't we get them to write it down, and give to Brennan so he knows" I smile and agree. 

We heard down to the kitchen being greeted by dad, embracing me in a happy hug "Morning son, ready?" I smile and nod, thank god, he was having a good day. Dad of course went straight to Emma, hugging her ever tighter but not to much being carefully of his little grand baby. "I can't wait to meet you little one" Dad said rubbing her belly. Emma weakly smiled at the moment, a single tear falling, knowing it may never happen. "Oh dear, I'm sorry" Dad said pulling her back into the hug. 

The whole family made their way to the hospital, Dad and Belle were both having check ups also. "Hungry?" Liam asked Belle say we waiting "Starving" Liam smiles brightly at Belle and head off to the cafe. They were getting quite close, which sort of surprised me. When we were younger Liam always picked on Belle and saw her as an annoying little sister. But he was looking at her different and he wasn't the only one.

"So... You and Liam" I whisper in Belle's ear, he cheeks going bright red. "What!? There's not Liam and I. God your crazy." I chuckle to myself "Right, so you just stare at each other for no reason." Belle looks down, fingers rubbing her belly. "He hasn't run yet Belle, Liam is a big boy. If I can be a father, Liam will be ever better. That little boy may not be his, but that wouldn't matter to him. Take a chance." Belle gives a weak smile "Are you okay with this?" I smile, hand coming to join hers on her belly "If it makes you both happy, that's all that matters to me."

"Miss Swan?" A nurse calls. "Tell him, we'll be back soon" Belle nod and Emma, my parents and I head off. The doctor starts the ultrasound showing us our little baby, it was the first time Mum and Dad had joined us, tears welling in their eyes "Mum you better not cry" I say cheekily, Mum giving my arm a little punch. The baby was healthy and growing strong and Emma was doing great.

"Okay, here you go. This has the gender of your baby." The doctor said handing us a letter as we leave. Returning to the lobby Liam and Belle are sitting, fingers linked together, smiling brightly at each other. "Since when are Liam and Belle a thing?" Emma asks. "Since now I'm guessing." I smile to my best friend. She hadn't look this happy in a long time. 

Emma POV 

It began to drive me insane we were all sat in the lounge watching Brennan has he read the letter. He smiled brightly, a tear falling. I know I said I didn't want to know but is was just too exciting. "I want to know!" I blurt out "Knew you would crack" Killian said making everyone laugh. "So?" I ask. Brennan walks over, kneeling down in front of us. He holds both our hands, my heart was racing. This was making it so real, Killian and I were starting a family. 

"Well I'm sure she is going to be just a beautiful as her mother." Tears fall, we were having a little girl. Killian's face lite up "A girl!?" Brennan nods pulling his son in for a hug, Lily coming to hug me "Congrats sweetheart. Now we can go buy clothes for her!" She said, overjoyed just as I was. "Well maybe our little ones will fall in love" Belle said over her sobs as we hugged crying as usual. 

Killian brought me into a hug next, giving me a soft sweet kiss. "Are you happy?" I ask, knowing he would of loved a boy "Of course love. I just want a healthy baby." I smile kissing him once more. "Come on let go shopping!" Lily said practically pulling me out the house, everyone following along. 

"Emma!" Killian yells from the other side of the store. I come to join him and Liam "Look! We need this" He said show my a little romper with 'Daddy's #1 girl' It made me so happy to know excited Killian was to be a father. "It's perfect" I say giving him a kiss, then continuing around the store. I walk to Belle in the toy section "Belle?" She nods, turning to face me "Are you ready for all of this?" I say gesturing to our surroundings. 

"Is anyone ever ready?" We laugh "Very true, at least we will have each other." She smiles, reaching out for me hand, pulling me around the store picking out heaps of clothes and toys. Neither could wait to meet our little ones, but still in the back of both our minds was Brennan and how would Killian and Liam be once he pasted. Even worse was how Lily would be, the babies were a good distraction but soon enough if would happen. Right now all we could do was treasurer the last moments with him.
