Chapter Fourteen
Nerves
“How are we supposed to leave with those guys outside?”
“I don't know Noel.”
“It's been almost two weeks. I think we're safe from any threats.” Noel snorted in annoyance. It was true. Two weeks had passes since Dorian was captured and escaped. Golden Valley never attacked or anything. But Delta's stupid henchman were still positioned outside of my house and were ruining every chance Noel and I had to escape.
I looked out the window in the dining room and saw a lady handing the guys food and then waving goodbye. I sighed and threw the curtain down.
“We aren't going anywhere if they keep feeding them. There has to be someway to distract them.”
“Why don't you pretend you're having the baby?” Noel asked with a shrug of his shoulders. I gave him a blank stare as he nibbled on his Hot-pocket. “What?”
“We are getting out of here because they want my baby Noel. Pretending to be giving birth to it is going to do no one any good.”
“Okay fine. Then why don’t you just go out there, hit them in the necks on the pressure point that knocks you out, drag their bodies behind the house and then poof! Off we go!”
“I think I'm just gonna go talk to them.”
“Or you could be realistic.” I looked at Noel and returned my look before getting up and walking to the sink. He was getting sassier and sassier by the day. I blamed the shows on Netflix I was letting him watch, but then again, he doesn't listen to me that much anymore even if I tried to stop him.
“Here's the plan. I’m going to tell them you cant sleep because their scaring you and then I want you to cry if we start coming I inside. Make it believable.”
“You know, with all this scheming we do, I have a feeling I'm going to make a great assassin. Draw them in with my innocent crying and then BAM. I snap their necks.”
I gave him a creeped out look, “Just go practice crying you asshat.” I said before walking to the front door.
“Can I snap their necks?” I heard him yell after me.
“No.” I snapped back. I heard him grunt and stomp off before I opened the door. I stepped outside and looked at the three men eating and laughing. I cleared my throat and they looked back at me.
“Could you guys maybe leave for the day? Noel can't sleep cause he isn't comfortable.” The one I knew as Connors, looked at me with a deadpan stare and I felt my eye twitch.
“No can do. Alpha's orders to keep you safe.” He said, chewing his food and throwing the trash on the floor.
“Its been two weeks. We're fine. And its only for a day.” I protested.
“Sorry. We answer to the Alpha, not you.”
“Listen here you shrimp dick fuck nuggets. I'm pregnant and very hormonal. You do not want to piss me off right now. So I suggest you pick up your shit, go take a break for the night before I shove your heads up your hamster holes.” I said all of that with a smile on my face and my eyebrow twitching. I watched their faces look at me in horror
“One night couldn't hurt.”
“Yeah. Two weeks safe, I think they'll be fine.”
They all said apologies and quickly took off. I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked back into the house. I called out to Noel and he came trotting into the living room.
