As soon as Cannon heard the car doors slam and the tires peeling out of the driveway, Cannon was peeling off his clothes and rushing outside. As soon as he was naked enough, he phased.
He felt the familiar sort of pain/pleasure of his bones contorting, as they shifted and grew, and the calm of his skin growing and turning into fur, as he finally landed on four feet and gave in to the wolf inside him, the feel of dirt beneath his claws just itching for him to dig them in and run. Cannon then lifted his head and let out a long howl, it echoing throughout the forest. Almost instantly, he felt Vin’s presence enter into his mind as he phased.
“What happened?” Vin demanded, as he started to run through the forest towards Delton.
Instead of answering him, Cannon just brought forth the memory of what he saw as they flowed into the link between the pack, allowing his alpha to see everything that he did as if he were there.
Cannon heard Vin’s growl through his mind as he saw Vin start to push himself to reach Cannon faster.
“You think it was a Vampire?” Vin asked as he pushed himself to run faster, the sound of his paws hitting the ground rapidly echoing through their mind.
It has to be Cannon snarled, shaking his head and stomping a paw on the ground, as his muzzle curled into a snarl, the growl echoing loudly. “There’s no way a human could cause blood splatters like that. That shit was on the fucking ceiling, Vin.”
How come you didn’t smell Vampire then? Bobby asked, joining in as he started to race after Vin
Cannon snarled, growling again as his tail swished back and forth angrily.
“I couldn’t get past the disgusting smell of drugs and booze. It was that bad.”
Cannon still couldn’t believe that his beautiful, sweet Jaylynn came from a place like that. The thought only making him more angry as he let out a vicious growl, snapping his giant jaws in the air.
Calm down. She’s with you now, she won’t ever go back there. Vin promised.
“I’m going to phase out, try to check out the house and see what the hell happened. I didn’t even look around, I phased as soon as I can to tell you”. Cannon told Vin, turning his head to start walking towards the house.
“Be careful, I’ll be there in a couple of minutes. Stay on your guard.” Vin warned Cannon, as he weaved in between the trees that was blurring by.
Yeah Cannon, you don’t know if that bloodsucker is still there. Bobby agreed. “I should be there in thirty minutes, Leah and Jaxsion are staying behind for when Luben and Jaylynn get there.”
Good. We’ll know if something was wrong from them, and it will give Jaylynn more protection. Vin approved. He appeared to be jumping over a large stream, landing on the other side he continued to run south.
