He finds it hard to live without music, whether it be from home, or from the music that's popular where he lives. It's there for him when he needs it to be. Music can't betray him like another human can, or make him feel like he's useless (even though the drugs make him that way).
Music tells him the answers.
So, when he finds a song titled "Enjoy the Silence", he is confused. Silence fixes nothing. Silence forces him to think, to confront his thoughts and the truth about himself. Silence is the enemy. It always has been. He decides to listen to the song though, seeing as it's caught his attention, and he finds himself seeing it as a wake up call. He realizes that he needs to think. He needs to face the past.
He finds the silence very enjoyable that night.
