I will never forget that experience. Before I was more naïve about the dangers of our world and now I'm more aware. I promised my mother I would never set foot in Mortada but Athena and Alayis didn't. They didn't see my mother's cries and her worries. They didn't see. They needed more reasons not to go but I didn't.

So the days after school when they would ask me to come with them, I didn't. I would say things like. "If I don't complete my homework today, I'll get the boot licker job." They wouldn't question me because they knew boot licker was the worst job to ever be assigned.

I bet Athena was slightly happy I wouldn't come along. She crushed on my brother since the day she was born. God only knows what they were doing by themselves.

Why is it that Alayis gets all of the girls? Days in School 3 for him were the best. There was an abandoned secret arithmetic room near the stairs to the roof. Alayis would take every girl he charms up there and do things with them I wished he wouldn't do. Then later on treat them like crunched snail. But after Alayis and Athena started spending alone time in Mortada he stopped.

I would think to myself that it was a little bit weird but Alayis knew I loved Athena. There was on time when we were eating lunch at school together and I slipped a lust potion in her drink. We made out for about three minutes until it wore of. She never remembered a thing. Or possibly pretended not to. I felt guilty afterward. I apologized to her without telling her why later on.

The end of the year came and it was time for the Linkas day parade and this year Alayis was being assigned. Athena came along with my family that day for support, and so did Dainty. When his name was called and he got assigned entrepreneur he was so happy. The job was perfect for him. I was excited for my brother until...

The first person Alayis turned to hug was Athena. Not mother nor Araya, nor me. Just Athena. They embraced for more than four minutes. Then he laid a kiss upon her lips. Anger filled me. I took out my wand and struck him. He blasted through the crowd it made a big scene. The announcements stopped. Alayis jumped up quickly and grabbed my shirt trying to hold me in place.

"We're in love! We're in love!" Alayis yelled as if he wanted to dent it in my brain." I've chosen her to be my bride!"

I stopped moving. It's official now. There was nothing I could do. There was no way to make Athena love me. I just embarrassed myself in front of the whole city. I didn't get far until the authorities took me. I was jailed for the whole night. I would've been banished to earth for three months if I was an adult. Interrupting announcements is a big no. In the end I was left shamed and heartbroken. Alayis, Athena and I made up but I never forgave him for that. Never.
