Extent of this Friendship

49 7 3

The way you stare at me,
It feels uncomfortable.
Those brown eyes piercing mine
Makes anxiety claw at me

You make me wonder
Who you actually are.
I know you since a year
But I don't know the extent of our friendship.

Are you a regular brown-eyed brunette who's just content with his life?
Are you some secret loverboy who wears a playboy mask?
Are you a gangster like they say? Surely not.
Or are they right? I hope not.

I'm certainly not your type,
You change girlfriends just as often as you change hoodies.
Your mind is a whole universe,
But you decide to only conquer a few galaxies.

I'm sorry for the few times I was moody
And maybe mean to you.
You too tried causing me trouble,
Though unintentionally,
Not knowing the impact it would have on me.

I can't forget your face
That day your rage conquered you.
You were in pain, tears under your eyes
And there was nothing I could do.

But today your stare at me
When pretty Abigail came to class,
Made me wonder deeply
What am I to you?

I'm just a passerby person in your life
Who's here for a short time with you.
I'm just here to rejoice with you
With the rest of our colleagues for this year.

I'm here to observe your face when you laugh,
To admire those brown eyes of yours,
To share funny things with you,
And enjoy the goofy things you do.

Hey guys! I wrote this poem some days ago, this week.
It was inspired by someone exchanging glances with me, in a way that could have been mysterious.
Hope you guys enjoyed it!
I usually try to write out my feelings in a poem, so I sometimes concentrate more on that rather than on making the poem rich with attractive poetic elements.
