"It's over Bruce. I'm sorry." You turned away and towards your car. "No matter what you say, you can't change this."

Before he could respond or stop you, you got into your car and began driving. You glanced back in your mirror to see Bruce standing in front of his manor staring after you.

You had been dating the famous Bruce Wayne for several months but had decided he just wasn't the type of person you wanted to be with. He was nice but he wasn't anything like batman.

You had seen Batman on T.V. many times for his bravery and willingness to stand up to villains. He was someone who put others before himself. He was the type of person you'd want to be with.

You were so deep in thought that you didn't notice as a black van pulled in front of your car. You slammed on the brakes and pulled sharply to the side, but it was too late.

You slammed into the van causing you to hit the airbag. Your head was spinning as you looked up to see a man in a ski mask walk over to your car and open the door.

He put a sweet smelling rag over your face. You tried to protest but your limbs felt like lead as you fell into a deep sleep.

~oOo~

You weren't sure where you were when you woke up. The room was pitch black and not a single light emanated from the darkness.

You tried to brush a strand of hair off your face and found that your hands were tied behind your back, tying you to a metal chair.

You heard faint voices from outside the room. "We're sure to get a good sum from her. If he cares about her at all, we'll get a lot!"

A door opened sending binding light crashing into the room. You were temporarily blinded but as your eyes adjusted you saw the silhouettes of two men standing in the door way.

"Good you're awake." The first sneered. "We've already called your beloved Bruce. So unless you want to end up dead on the street, you better do as we say and hope that Wayne gives us what we want."

"While we wait, we thought we'd have a bit of fun with you first." The second sneered as he put his face in yours. He shoved his lips against yours. You struggled but he wouldn't back away.

When he did pull away you spit onto the floor. "Stay away from me!" You shouted hoping to mask the fear in your voice.

"Looks like we've got a feisty one."

The light from the hall flashed but they paid it no mind. The first one shoved his friend out of the way as he came towards you. "It's my turn."

Before he made it to you, the hallway light completely went out. "What's goin-" One man started but was quickly cut off.

There was a thud on the floor then quickly a second thud came after a flurry of footsteps.

"Hello?" you ventured. You felt the bindings fall and hear a voice coming from behind you.

"Are you ok?" It was a deep voice.

Could this be Batman?

"Yeah. Who are you?"

"I'm Batman. Hurry, we must leave." He grabbed your hand and pulled you to your feet. "This way."

He led you down a series of corridors until you burst into the cool night air. You could see the night sky clearly and the lights of the city in the distance.

~oOo~

After he'd led you to your house he had disappeared into the night without a trace. You had tried asking him who he was but he had not given up his identity. You knew that no matter what, he wouldn't tell anyone.

Unknown to you, on a nearby building, a dark figure sat hidden in the shadows sadly watching you as you entered your apartment.
