An Inter-Planet Love Story

Chapter 1

I untie my hair band,letting my hair loose for the breeze to style it as it wants.The orangey yellow ball of light is receding down the sky and it makes me feel lighter and happier,like always.Today I am even more excited.I can hear my mother calling me from downstairs to pack and stuff.I walk towards the stairs,my eyes still on the blue orange pink of the sky.

*Banng*

"God,how many more glasses do you need,Zee?",my sister Nia asks me.

"Ouch,Ouchh,Ouchch"..I say simultaneously.

"I know you are super excited and all,but watch your steps stupid ! Also move your lazy ass,you have like loads to pack."

"I know,I know.C'mon,lets go down.By the way,Where's mom?".I am practically bouncing down the steps.

"Ah,she s gone to the supermarket to buy the stuff you wanted."

I nod and together,we go to my room.She immediately collapses in my bean bag and starts munching on a hersheys chocolate bar.

"I am seriously gonna change this room as mine immediately after you go."

I give her a deathly stare and she gives me a I was just kidding sorta expression.

"Your room is so cool,you know.All these pictures,these books,your so called quote paintings,posters,collectibles..its so colorful,so alive.Its so you-ish.It like a big square bubble of YOU".

"Obviously! Its MY room.How else will it be?" I reply with a duh voice.
"Now move your lazy ass and help me."I add.

"I dont do anything without a bargain.Promise me you ll leave your peach wedges and green cardigan and I will help".She replies.

"Ugh,fine! Now fold these clothes and arrange it in this bag while I pack my shoes and bags".I say and she gladly obeys.

I scan my room and its so confusing to decide what and what not to take.After a lot of messing around,choosing,arguing,folding and organizing we completed our packing.
And as promised,I gave her what she asked and I also gave her my favorite shirt dress that she has been eyeing for so long.While she is squealing and praising,I hear mom and dad getting in to the house.

"Ziya..Nia..Where are you both? And did you help Ziya in her packing? She asks Nia as we both sit on the sofa.
Nia tells about our packing and mom is busy checking her wallet for something.She finally pulls out a list and hands it over to me.

"Darling,here.I made a checklist for you to see if you have packed everything that you ll need".I thank her with a hug and she kisses my forehead.

"Mom,where's Dad?"

" Ah,he has a meeting to attend and so he ll be very late.Its only the three of us for dinner tonight.Come on,girls."

We have dinner and talk about tomorrow,my big day.I kinda wish dad was here now because god knows where I will be tomorrow and when I will be back. We help mom clear the table and continue our chit chat while she does the dishes.
It was a long day and we are tired , with the frantic packing and shopping.We exchange good nights and my mom after double checking with me about my needs and all,we go to our respective rooms.I pick the checklist from my pocket and thank my mother a million times in my head cause without the list I would ve missed many things.Moms are just amazing right?

I take a quick shower and change in to my night clothes.I head over to my dresser and in the mirror,I see Nia sitting in the corner of my bed,biting her pinkie nail.With her shoulder length blonde waves, pale green eyes and golden skin,you can say we are so unlike each other.

I have deep blue eyes,smooth and long black hair,pale skin like my mother.

"What are you doing here?And what's bothering you?"

I know the answer already but still.

She jerks up and says "I couldn't sleep you know.I have no idea how I am going to survive without you.I am just so happy and excited for you but I am going to misss you.Who is going to give me all the sisterly advice?"

Eventhough, I m elder than her, she is the stronger and sensible one(Also,taller :/ ).Right now,I dont know what to say.I just sit next to her and say with as much normally as possible,"Fool,I know its very hard but its not like I am going forever.I ll call and text you all the time."

"Yeah,but it wont be the same.You ll be busy and I cant barge in to your room anytime I feel like and drive you nuts simply cause I am bored".

"It will be alright.You will have no time between your friends,sophomore year in school and badminton practice."

"Whatever.Can I sleep here today?".

"Yeah,sure stupid".

Between reminiscing all our memories,giggling and talking random stuff,we both drifted off to sleep.
