The next morning, I woke up to the smell of fried eggs. Who could be cooking eggs? I made my way to the kitchen. Asami was there, wearing my apron, cooking.

“Good morning, Kyo-kun!” she said cheerfully.

That’s right. She said she wanted to stay with me till I was out of my wheelchair.

“M-morning, A-Asami-kun,” I said sleepily.

She smiled at me for a second then went back to cooking.

We ate breakfast quietly until…

“Are you able to go to school, Kyo-kun?” she asked with much concern on her face.

I think I might be able to go to school.

I nodded.

She smiled in surprise.

We finished breakfast in silence and started to get ready for school. Asami had to help me get dressed which was a little embarrassing. After we took a short while to get ready, we hurried out the door. Asami pushed me relatively quickly, at least while she was speed-walking.

"I'm assuming Mr. Fuyu and Ms. Yoru won't be here again today," Ms. Asihara said aloud to the class.

The class was silent with a few hanging heads.

Asami pushed me through the door. Everyone was surprised.

"K-Kyo-san?" the class said in unison.

I shyly waved my hand and Asami wheeled me to my seat. I carefully sat down.

"I'll give you all a few minutes to talk to Mr. Fuyu as it seems you all wish to do so," Ms. Asihara said. With that, she turned around and started scribbling in some books.

Almost everyone ran over to me.

"We read the news article," said one man, "seems you're the type of guy that knows how to fight and stick up for himself. We appreciate that."

All the guys nodded in unison.

"You really have a lot more to you then we can see, Kyo-kun," Asami said smiling.

All the girls looked at her and I with sympathetic faces.

"How long do you have to be in that wheelchair, Kyo-san?" asked one of the girls.

"The doctor told me one month," I said.

Ms. Asihara walked over.

"Then I guess we can have you as a class project," she said smiling. "Everyone can pitch in to help Mr. Fuyu. I put everyone's name in a bowl. I will draw slips for every day, no repeats, that Kyo, I mean, Mr. Fuyu, is in that wheel chair. Each person can help him for one day. With that, here comes the first pull."

Ms. Asihara's hand dove into the bowl and pulled out a slip of paper.

 "Natsumi Shizuka."

Everyone turned to a girl with silver hair and purple eyes in the back of the room. She looked up from her desk to see everyone staring at her.

"I have to help him? God, why can't he wheel himself. Lazy," she said so matter-of-factly.

Well, at least I'm not the only one who thought of me wheeling myself.

"I very well could wheel myself," I said.

All the girls shook their heads in unison.

"No, you have to be taken care of Kyo-san, you almost died," they said all together.

I sighed. I guess I could have died, if it weren't for Asami's quick thinking.

"I guess it can't be helped. Ms. Shizuka, if you would, please," said Ms. Asihara with a little bit of sternness in her voice.

Natsumi sighed.

"Fine."

As the lunch bell rung, Natsumi rose from her seat. Everyone turned around and glared at her.

"Hmph," she said.

She grabbed my chair and wheeled me into the hall.

Several students waved at me or smiled then looked at away as they caught Natsumi's glare.

"Well, where do you want to go?" she asked coldly.

"Th-the rooftop," I said.

She sighed. She wheeled us up the handicap ramps the school had installed about a year ago. They were concrete ramps that hung off the side of the building with a door and a platform for each floor of the school. The top-most one led to the roof, which is the one she wheeled me through.

Daisuke and Asami were already there, and waved to me as we entered their sights.

"Hey, Kyo-kun. Sorry 'bout your leg, pal. Good man defending Asami though," Daisuke said coolly.

Asami smiled at me. I smiled back, shyly.

I carefully sat down on the ground. Natsumi sighed and sat down too.

Natsumi leaned back on her arms.

"So what do you guys eat up here for? It's kind of cold," Natsumi said, shivering.

I took my coat out of my bag and gave it to her. She looked at me and took it.

"Th-thanks," she said, putting it on.

The door burst open. The twins came rushing in.

"Kyo-kun!" they said, sprinting towards me.

Both of them crouched down and hugged me.

"Are you okay Kyo-kun?" they asked in unison.

I nodded shyly.

"We got here a little late so we didn't find out anything. We did read the article that Ms. Asihara gave us, though, to figure what happened," Minako said. Haruka nodded.

They both looked at Asami.

"Are you ok?" they asked in unison.

They seem to talk in unison a lot.

She nodded.

"Luckily, Kyo-kun helped me," Asami said.

The twins stared at me, a look of adoration.

Natsumi laughed.

"You girls sure love this guy, Kyo, huh?" Natsumi said smirking.

All three girls blushed.

"Kyo-kun is a kind and generous guy!" said Minako. "I guess I'll take him from you then."

Wait, what?

I felt a brush of hair and then something touched my lips. I saw Natsumi's face so close to mine. What is going on?!

Natsumi's face pulled away.

I looked at the girls, their mouths open from shock.

"NA-NATSUMI!?" they screamed in unison.

Haruka burst into tears and ran out the door. Asumi and Minako chased after her.

As the class bell rung, we sat down.

Asami walked over to the group of girls she usually talks to. They started whispering then a shout filled the room.

"NATSUMI!?" one of the girls screamed.

They all got up and walked over to her desk.

Natsumi sat there smiling.

Just then, I realized exactly what just happened.

Asami whispered in my ear: "Natsumi is...your girlfriend now."

"G-GIRLFRIEND?!" I shouted.
