Prologue

A blonde boy wandered through heaps of chairs and mysterious artefacts, his eyes on the path ahead of him. He didn't seem to notice anything around him. There were no people here, just mounds of items. Such as, books and statues of unknown things. The hair on the boy stuck out in contrast to everything else. Like a star in the black night sky that nobody took notice of.
But then again, muggles never did notice much...
The boy stopped abruptly. He had heard something. Something crashed to the floor beside him and he cursed to himself quietly.
"Peeves!" He murmured, continuing down the stretch of the room.
He smiled to himself as he neared it, something he came to every few weeks.
"Why don't I hate you?" he sighed to himself, settling by a picture of a girl.
It was just a picture, a picture of muggle-born girl smiling brightly at the camera, laughing at it. The boy frowned to himself, picking the frame up.
He stared at it in his hands, memorising her face, as he had done since his first year. The brown bushy hair, the mesmerising glow of her eyes. To him she was beautiful, but she didn't think so. Her front teeth slightly larger than normal, from the curse he put upon her by accident, years ago when that red-haired boy interfered with him.
He didn't care if he had hurt her friends, he cared about her...
"She hates you, Malfoy. Face it." He wailed to himself in despair, standing up again and placing the frame on the table again. He turned on his heel swiftly and rushed from the room, his cloak billowing behind him.
