Gavin moved numbly through the unfamiliar halls, looking for anything that said he had came this way before. He knew they turned around and came back the way they came but.. This is different. He couldn't find the intersection again.
He turned a corner, feeling much like he was wandering. He froze when he saw someone ahead.
"Geoff?"
The blocky outline turned, staring the brunette down, eyes practially glowing white. Gavin stepped back a few feet. The figure twitched and moved forward. Gavin almost began to run, but his legs wouldn't move.
He let out a panicked whimper, looking down to his legs and seeing webs snake around them and securing them to the ground. He sliced his sword at the string, but they yanked him to his bottom, lacing his sprawled legs to the hard stone, his sword going flying.
The creature crept closer, kicking him down so his back was against the rough stone that chilled him through his shirt and skin. He pressed his foot against his windpipe, slowly applying more and more pressure as the webs cocooned his lower torso.
He scrabbled at the evil figments foot on his throat.
Can't breathe. I-I can't breathe. He's going to kill me.
He was panicking, thrashing about as he fought against the darkness that edged his vision.
Then he went still.
The pain flickered into an uncomfortableness. His throat felt strange, and his chest felt like it was collapsing slowly, but it was otherwise peaceful. All other sounds blurred out, and he was alone with his thoughts. He tried to sigh, but he couldn't breathe in, or out.
Huh, that's weird. Said his oxygen-less brain.
"Geoff! Geoff, he can't breathe!"
"What's happening?!"
"I don't know!"
"Gavin, fight it!"
"Gavin, don't you die you fucking little shit!"
"Michael, back up! Give him some room!"
"He can't breathe Geoff, what the hell are we supposed to do?!"
"We can't do anything.. We-.. We'll just wait it out."
Gavin struggled against the dark trying to not let it engulf him. Michael. Michael's alive. I have to wake up. I have to see him. He's alive.
He tried shouting but it came out as a garbled gasp.
"Micool!"
The noises of outside stopped for a long moment.
"Geoff, try the eject."
"What?! It's not safe, Michael, I fucking told you th-"
"We don't have another choice! He's going to die!"
He felt a hand on his his, but there was nothing there, he knew. Michael was trying to reach him, but they both couldn't reach each other.
"Fine, stand back."
Gavin felt his body lurch forward, and it felt like he was falling extremely fast, or someone had sped up a car to tremendous speeds. The sensation of crushing was lifted and he gasped for air, his thoughts becoming more stable. He was going too fast. Where was he?
Then everything halted.
He was in darkness, and couldn't move. Every part of his being ached, and fatigue riddled his body. With his eyes closed, he fell into exhaustion, hoping to be safe and sound.
