After a 2 minute conversation over the phone to Ari and Ruby who were out grocery shopping, I had hung up as they fan-girled that I had said yes and wanted to know about the other band members.
I wasn’t in the mood.
I put on some comfortable clothing, I wasn’t dressing up just to go shopping.
At 11:30, the apartment doorbell rang and I opened it up to see Louis standing there, on his phone.
“Hey, ready?”
was all he said as he looked up.
“You know I think you’ve taken this ‘in love’ thing a little to literal. Matching jackets?”
chuckled Louis gesturing to my jean jacket.
Louis had a similar one on.
I growled.
“Far out, let me change,”
I said grumbling.
I ran into my room, dropping the jacket and finding a different one.
When I came out, Louis was seated on the couch, feet up on the table.
“Make yourself at home,”
I said, walking straight past his feet, knocking them to the ground.
“I thought you would be a while,”
he said yawning, as he stood up.
I gave him a look as he picked up my phone and wallet.
“Why?”
I asked.
“Because remember our formal in high school and my mum made me pick you up and you took like an hour to find a jacket?”
he laughed.
I glared at him.
“Let’s go,”
I said pushing him out the door.
In the elevator, we both tried to look anywhere but each other but it was hard in the tightly cramped elevator.
“Like your shoes,”
said Louis nodding at the floor.
“Our conversation is off to a good start,”
I noted.
Louis rolled his eyes and I followed him out the building.
Out the front was Louis’s car.
He walked around, hopping in but somehow forgetting to open the passenger door.
I banged on the roof and Louis mumbled something I didn’t comprehend, laughing as the door opened.
“Thank you,”
I said unhappily.
We didn’t say much as we drove through the city, pulling up to some shopping centre.
We got out and kind of stood there, unsure what to do.
“What now?”
I asked looking at Louis through my sunglasses.
“Hand-holding is as far as I’m going,”
I said when he didn’t answer.
Louis finally looked at me, trying to hide a smile.
“Let’s just walk around, hand holding distance. I’ll buy you an ice-cream and there, we’re done!”
he said shrugging.
