A week later, my date had arrived.

I was jumpy. Louis had come over this afternoon with another bag of my things I left behind.

He looked strained and said he had something to tell me but shook his head and walked away.

It was bugging me now but I tried to get rid of it as I slipped on my heels and fixed my hair.

Layton was taking us to some fancy restaurant even though I insisted he didn't need to.

We had met for coffee once during the week and I just liked him even more.

Ari and Ruby managed to make themselves scarce, heading to a work party function that I was luckily missing.

I heard a knock on the door and picked up my bag.

"You look gorgeous babe,"

said Layton, kissing my cheek and taking my hand.

I blushed though thought if it was Louis.

I slammed the door shut, annoyed at my thoughts before walking with Layton.

Louis P.0.V

It was 9:30 pm and I sat at home, staring at the phone.

I had to tell Amelie.

I had to tell her.

I dialed her number and when it went to her voicemail, I groaned.

I found Ruby's number and dialed that, I needed to talk to her.

"Hello?"

I heard Ruby say and I nearly spluttered everything out.

"I need to speak to Amelie. She's not answering her phone. Where is she?"

I said quickly.

"Hi to you too! She's on a date!"

said Ruby and I could hear lots of chatter in the background.

"A date?"

I echoed.

What?

No, she can't be.

"Yeah. With my cousin."

she said.

"Where?"

I said, pulling on my toms and jacket.

"Some fancy restaurant near the wharf,"

she said and she gave me the name.

"Thanks,"

I said, running out the house.

"Go get her,"

was all she said but it was enough to make me want to run.

But, I chickened out when I got there, putting on my acting skills.

I sat laughing with Layton at a corny joke as I spooned chocolate cake in my mouth.

We were eating dessert, cake and whipped cream at the restaurant.

It was a little too fancy for my liking but it was something.

I licked my spoon of the cream, concentrating on every bit.

"You look so cute when you concentrate,"

said Layton, startling me.

"Oh, thanks,"

I flushed looking away.

Suddenly my bag vibrated and I muttered sorry to Layton who was watching me intently.

Play along

from Louis.

Oh shit.

Last time I got that text I was at the club.

I dropped my spoon when I saw Louis run between tables of the restaurant, coming towards us.

"Amelie! Babe!"

he said loudly, coming over.

He tilted my head, pressing his lips to mine.

Everything stopped then.

I didn't move, not processing anything.

Louis pulled away, pulling up a chair as he sat next to me.

"So is this your gay best friend?"

asked Louis, using my spoon and taking some of Layton's cake.

I didn't know what was going on.

Layton looked as shocked as me.

"Gay? Who is this?"

asked Layton, pointing to Louis and glancing at me.

"Uh, Louis,"

I mumbled, still watching Louis smile triumphantly as he ate Layton's cake like he didn't give a fuck in the world.

"I'm Amelie's boyfriend. She said you are just a friend. What's your name?"

asked Louis wrapping an arm around me.

I didn't even blink as Layton gave me a filthy look before dropping his napkin and storming out.

I didn't move a muscle.

I stared at Louis who finished eating his cake carelessly.

I had no idea what just happened.

Louis grinned at me, shrugging his shoulders and raising an eyebrow.

"Fuck you,"

I spat, dropping a few bills on the table before picking up my bag and leaving.

I heard Louis follow but I hated him at the moment.

Probably more than ever.

I stood outside in the cold, walking down the sidewalk.

I didn't have a jacket so as I called a cab, I was shivering.

Louis was coming towards me and I turned, focusing on the empty road.

"Amel-"

Louis started but I stuck my finger up at him.

Louis heard me chattering and shrugged off his jacket, throwing it around my shoulders.

I threw it off, back at him.

I had no idea why he did that and I tried calling Layton but he wasn't answering.

Course not after that episode.

He would never speak to me again.

The cab appeared after the long silence between Louis and I and I slid in after saying

"You have issues Louis,"

I snarled.

I watched Louis head towards his car and I was glad he hadn't offered me a lift.

I would've used some colorful words.

When I got back to Ruby, Ari and I's apartment, waiting in the hall was my favorite person.
