Adam’s POV

I called Toby around ten. No had died at his house and they were pretty good in terms of supplies. They didn’t have as much food as they wanted, but Jack had been prepared and brought stuff for a garden. It was almost scary how prepared he was. He seemed like a doomsday prepper, one of those people that goes and sets all these things up for an apocalypse or something. But I didn’t mind, considering he might be the reason I survived. If I survived. I had already seen lots of corpses, and it wasn’t in my best interest to become one. I tried to lighten up the mood with my usual insanity, but today nothing worked. I think everyone was just sick of each other. I ended up sitting on the couch with Justin, while Jason drove. He was listening to Miley Cyrus music, and I made sure to record that moment. I didn’t post it though. I might if we were ever to get out of this, but I didn’t have high hopes. I nudged Justin, who was half asleep, and he shot up, eyes wide in fear. Then he punched me.

“I THOUGHT YOU WERE A ZAMBIE!” he yelled, laughing and freaking out at the same time.

“Haha, just wanted you to hear this.” I pointed at the driver’s seat, and we listened. You could barely hear Jason singing Wrecking Ball in a really high pitched voice. Justin finally laughed, and Jason stopped.

“ADAM! IF YOU RECORDED THAT I WILL HURT YOU!!” he screamed, waking up Jerome and Mitch. Ty had been puking all night, and now was the first time he had slept in ages. I didn’t think anything would wake him up.

“What did you do Adam?” asked Jerome.

“I have angered the Jason. SAVE MEEE!!” I yelled.

“Ooh. Can’t do that for you. At least he’s stuck driving…” Mitch said, “But when we stop, you’re screwed.”

“NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO DRIVE BUT JASON!” I yelled, waking up Ty.

“Wha?” he said, blinking.

“Adam has annoyed Jason. Don’t expect him to be around much longer.” Mitch explained. Jason ran out of the driver’s area, the bus starting to swerve. Mitch ran into the seat, and I ran to the bathroom, locking the door. Jason pounded on the door, but I wasn’t all that scared. I would keep him on his toes until the end of the drive, then tell him my phone hadn’t even been on when he was singing. But for now we would have an interesting ride.

~Two Hours Later~

I was really beginning to regret staying in the bathroom. Jason was still at the door, I could see his shoes underneath the door. I had only stayed alive by playing Candy Crush and surfing Instagram, trying to ignore all the memorials. Some people were still posting some funny stuff, I guessed they were trying to cheer people up. I posted my own funny video, about being stuck in the bathroom. Then I realized there were only thirty minutes until LA. I opened the door a crack, and realized what Jason had done. In front of the door was a pair of shoes.

“JASON!!” I yelled, running to the couch where he was laying down. He sat up, trying to block me, but it was no use. I ran straight into him, slamming the couch back into the wall.

“AHHRRRPPMHHH!” He yelled, and began pushing me off.

“YOU WILL DIE!” I yelled. Mitch ran up behind me and pulled me away, my face dragging on the carpet.

“Ok, let’s NOT kill each other ten minutes before getting out!” Jerome said.  I sat up, and looked out the window. We were in the city, groups of zombies limping around. A few came and pounded on the walls, making a horrible banging sound. I stood up, and stepped away from the window, letting the blinds down. I wondered how we were going to get into Toby’s house. We moved into the suburbs, and I was happy to see that the streets weren’t quite as stuffed with zombies. I watched the houses for one that looked like Toby’s. I had come to a party at his house once, and I still remembered what it looked like. I didn’t need to know though, because a ton of people were sitting on the roof, talking and shooting at the few zombies that walked around. I called Toby, and watched him pick up through the window.

“HEY! OK, Jack will take care of the zambies. Just run out when you hear gunshots.” Toby answered.

“OK. I’ll see you in a second.” I said, hanging up.

“Guys, grab all of the stuff. I’ll get the generator, Justin, grab the food, Jason get the weapons, and Mitch and Jerome grab everything else. Let’s go.” We grouped around the door, getting ready to go. I heard gunshots, and opened the door. Everyone ran out, me last. I dragged the generator out the door. It had wheels, but it was still really heavy, and one of the wheels had broken when we loaded it into the RV. I was going as fast as I could, but I could still hear the zombies getting close and closer. I hear a gunshot, and one fell. I looked back, and two still followed me. I was close to the door, but no more gunshots rang out. I could almost feel the zombie’s hot breath, and its groans were deafening in my ear. I gathered all of my strength, and leaped through the door. Someone slammed it behind me, and I collapsed on the floor. The world went black.

Justin’s POV

I walked into the house, and the prettiest girl I had ever seen said hi to me.

“Oh. Whoa. Hi,” I said, eyes wide. I hoped she passed it off as having almost been eaten by zombies.

“Hi!” she said, smiling and flipping her braided hair over one shoulder.

“I’m Justin. Sky’s cousin.” I said, blushing a bit. Most people got really weird when they found out I was his cousin.

“Cool!” she said “I’m Emma.” Wow. She had taken that really well.

“So, are you Toby’s sister or something? I don’t think I’ve seen you in a video.” I asked.

“WHAT? No, I’m a fan of him. I was getting some stuff signed when all of that cray stuff happened.” She said.

“Cool. Don’t your parents know where- oh.” She had a pained look in her eyes, and her lipped were pressed together.

“I’m sorry…” I said. She closed her eyes.

“It-It’s fine.” She stammered. Then I noticed Adam. He was lying on the floor, his face pale. Jack was sitting next to him, checking his pulse.

“ADAM!!!” I said, running over.

I looked at Jack.

“IS HE OK?! TELL ME HE IS OK!!!” I yelled, my heart pounding in my chest.

“Don’t worry. He just passed out from exhaustion and fear. He’ll be fine in the morning,” Jack reassured.

“You sure?” I asked, now calmer.

“I’m sure. He is just stressed.” Said Jack, and walked away. He was tired of the conversation.

“So then.” I said, sitting on the couch next to Adam. Emma plopped down on the other side of Adam, and looked at me.

“Well. I hope your cousin is OK.” She said.

“Yeah. He spent the last two hours in the car hiding from Jason. He was singing-“

“DON’T TELL HER TOO!” yelled Jason from the kitchen.

“He was singing Wrecking Ball.” I whispered into her ear. She leaned back and laughed.

“Seriously?” she asked, laughing.

“Yeah. Just don’t tell Jason I told you.” I said.

“I won’t. So. Were there zambies in Seattle?” she asked. I stared at her.

“NOOOO none. Just a few million…” I said, biting my lip. The zombies had broken into my house. I had gotten out, but I hadn’t waited for my parents. Or my younger sister. Then I had gone to Adam’s house, where the RV was. Then we had left. No one had asked about my parents, and Adam seemed to understand.

“Yeah. My family to.” said Emma.
