Oh yeah she knows. She is going to beat you. She will ground you. She will hate you. Judge you. You won't be free. Ever.
My mom stares at my arm and opens her mouth. The doctor enters the room before a single word may ever leave her lips.
Tisk tisk
The doctor is a guy probably in his late thirties. His hair is short and dark and his eyes were a light brown almost golden. He has a sincere look on his face. Almost a sad glimmer in his eyes.
Great a sympathetic doctor
My mom looks at him hoping he could change the truth. Bend it at his will. He can't. Her face is cold. Almost lifeless. The doctor opens his mouth and in a soft warm voice he introduces himself as Doctor Willems. He reaches out his hand to shake mine.
Don't move your arm girl
My right arm quivering as I shake his hand. I give him a sly smile and he nods at me. He turns to my mom, "Val, right?", my mother nods,"Cora seems to be fine. After we stabalized her gloucose. Her vitals were completely normal but her blood pressure was a bit low. Nothing serious." He uses hand gestures as he speaks," Cora is very dehydrated and not getting enough nutrition in her body..." His voice starts to fade as I stare at the wall clock in the cellular room.
Good job Cora. Fantastic. Can't even take care of yourself. Round of applause for Cora Downer. Disgrace aren't ya.
Before I realized it I screamed. My moms features changed from soft and solemn to frightened and alert. Doctor Willem stopped discussing health with my mother and stared at me with wide eyes.
Freak.
They knew now. I know they did. She was staring right at them. The things I sheltered.
