|| Day 5 First Year Battles ||

No matter what the cost

I groggily opened my eyes and yawned. The first thing I noticed was that I was not in my room. Soft dawn sunlight streamed past deep blue curtains and glancing around, I confirmed that I had woken up in a strange bed.

The smell of bacon seeped past the bedroom door and reached my nose. My stomach grumbled hungrily. Had I eaten dinner last night...?

I rubbed my eyes. Why was I in some strange room? I tried to bring my mind back to yesterday and realisation dawned.

The hallucination had come again, and that time I had passed out in the... Starlight Foris? But then how had I ended up here?

There were too many questions and no way to answer them. My head throbbed in pain and brought me back to the gut wrenching pain of my hallucination- or whatever it had been.

But the pain had felt so real, it was really like that 'Leander' had- according to Aurora- been trying to take over my mind. Was it something that I had eaten? Or was I really seeing the past?

"Nightingale?" I looked up sharply at the sound of my name.

Alistair.

He was standing by the bed and was holding a tray of food. My stomach grumbled in response and Alistair chuckled, placing the tray on my lap.

Without a further thought I ate up, watching as he took a seat.

"Do you feel alright?" His eyes were full of concern and I nodded. Why would I not feel alright?

I finished my plate and it took me a while before I realised that Alistair was actually here. And that I was in his room and most likely in his bed.

I paled. Why was I here?!

Alistair must have seen the panicked look on my face as he took back the tray.

"You passed out in the Starlight Foris while looking for Robin and..." He paused, a pained look crossing his face, "...there was blood on your face. Are you sure you're feeling alright?"

I nodded once again. I vaguely remembered being found by someone and a pair of pearly grey eyes came to mind. Robin.

Did that mean he had reappeared?

But I was here, in Alistair's room; he seemed to be the one who had found me.

'I'm okay..." I cleared my throat and coughed slightly.

"That's good, because you have your battles today."

What?!

My battles were today? Robin had gone missing yesterday and we had not even trained or discussed or anything together.

"Oh and... Robin came back right after I found you." He glanced at me quickly before looking away.

I frowned. So Alistair had found me? I shook my head, if it had been Robin, he would've left me passed out in the forest instead of bringing me back.

"You have to get down the training rooms to prepare." Alistair gazed at me, seemingly triple checking if I was alright.

I got up and realised that I needed to use the bathroom. I glanced around, feeling the beginnings of a blush creep into my cheeks.

Chuckling, Alistair pointed to a door on the right.

"I think you'll need that first."
