My head jerks up to the sound of heaven, the sound of the start of freedom, the bell. I scoop up my books in my arms, being sure to not drop the top one while doing so. I swerve in between the floods of people piling up to get out. I'm quite tall so I can see the smaller, more skinny kids being pushed back while the jocks push their way forward. I finally make it out and hurry down the hall towards the exit door, while others moved to their next classes or following behind. I was focusing to much on what I had to do that I walked into someone. But this wasn't just any someone, this was the roughest guy in the entire school, Jackson. 'Watch where your going,' he commanded me as he pushed me back. Unfortunately my temper got a hold of me so that when Jackson pushed me aside, I 'accidentally' stuck my foot out and he tripped over and landed face first onto the freshly polished floor. I move faster so he doesn't know it was me, just in case, anyway, I have no classes for the rest of the day so I'm able to make my way home, maybe picking up an ice cream along the way.
I take the usual path I always do, left, right, left, left, preoccupied by my own thoughts until I realise that there was always a streaky drum of footsteps behind me, without even looking I can tell it's Jackson and his gang of thugs. Damnit, I guess he's not as dumb as I thought he was, I hear them pick up speed but I match it so they don't gain any ground, I come to a fork in the path, of course I know where to go but I'm sure Jackson knows as well, so instead I surprise him and sprint down the other way as fast as I can. I run and run and run, taking random turns and twists to try and lose them. I run in til' my breath comes in ragged gasps and I can hear my heart beating. I turn around to see if they are still following me but I guess I chose the wrong time because I run straight into a wall...a blue wall...of a police public call box that I absolutely swear wasn't there before.
I fall backwards onto the floor and see the feet of Jackson and his gang halt right in front of me. I'm done for. I look up to see Jackson throw his head up in rounds of cackling laughter and the rest of the members just smirking down at me. I stagger to my feet and take a step back, only to remember the navy blue box there. I pull and push at the door but it just won't open. I turn back to face the boys, pressing myself against the door, waiting for my so called 'punishment', but it never happens, instead I feel myself fall backwards, into the blue box and meeting the eyes the wide eyed gang, now staring above me. Then I feel arms wrap around my waist and the voice of a man growling in a dangerous tone "leave her alone or I'm going to have to report you ... And I'm very, very sure you do not want that". And to my surprise, I watch Jackson turn and run with his gang following behind as the edges of my vision start to blur and turn black as I feel myself being dragged into the box. I watch the doors close as the blackness slowly consumes me and the same voice, except now soft, comforting me. "It's alright, you're safe now, I won't let them get to you, okay, it's alright now-" but that's all I heard as the blackness finally consumed me, the sounds and lights fade away and feeling cold and alone...as if I'm now...empty...
