It was still black as coal when Aoibhe woke next and a quick look at her watch told her it was only quarter to twelve. She couldn't understand the reason why she had woken up until she heard Noire meow quietly again and she found a letter on the blanket beside her toes. She picked it up and looked at it curiously before opening it. "Come to the common room at midnight", that was it, all it said, no name, nothing. She looked at it sceptically but Aoibhe was naturally curious so when her watch read five minutes to midnight she stood quietly from her bed put on her pink slippers and pulled her midnight blue plush dressing gown over her nightshirt and shorts. She tiptoed to the door and shut it softly behind her before edging her way down the stairs. The fire had burnt out and the only light in the common room was the silvery glow from the crescent moon that filtered in from the large bay window. She looked at her watch again and found that it was midnight but there was no one to be seen or heard. Suddenly a bag was pulled over her head and she gasped loudly but when she tried to speak nothing would come out, they'd used a silencing charm. She struggled roughly but whoever it was over powered her easily and lifted her, surprisingly fluidly and gently into their arms. No noise was made as the person carried her to god knows where and after a while she stopped struggling and sat still waiting for whatever was coming next. The person eventually came to a stop and someone else took of the bag, she almost roared when she saw who it was. The room was lit by a multitude of yellow flamed candles dancing off the mirrored walls and Aoibhe was almost certain she would have found if oddly romantic if not for the three boys grinning stupidly at her. James beamed gleefully at her and she went to speak but soon realised he still hadn't removed the silencing charm, she twisted slightly to see a very anxious looking Remus Lupin wincing slightly at the look on her face, but still holding her securely in his arms which would have turned Aoibhe into a tomato under different circumstances. She could understand James or Sirius pulling something like this but not Remus, he put her down gently and she just looked at him incredulously, as he smiled sheepishly back. "Hullo wren" Sirius called and she swung around and pointed a finger at him accusingly and he just shook his head laughing, "this wasn't my idea." She spun on her heel and found Remus smiling cunningly and she strode over and clipped him on the back of his head twice before gesturing to her mouth, again the change of demeanour in Remus was a enough to almost make her lose face. "Fine" he sighed and waved his wand and Aoibhe finally had the chance to rant, "you assholes, do you realise how terrified I was, I didn't know who had me or where I was going, ye really know how to treat a lady fellas. Sirius I expected this from you but Remus really." She was beyond upset and Remus realised his mistake a little too late, "we just wanted to inaugurate you into the group" he moved towards her and she stepped back. "Give me a minute" she turned away from the boys and Remus made to go to her but James pulled him back. "You heard wren, give her a minute" James patted his shoulder and Remus stared dejectedly at Aoibhe. She felt bad, sure they had scared the shit out of her but they were trying to be nice and on top of that she could feel Remus' deep amber eyes staring holes into her back. She took a deep breath and released it slowly calming herself down further before turning and facing Remus who looked down at the marble floor. He heard her move towards him but refused to look up for fear of what he'd see but he didn't realise how close she was until he finally looked up and found her nose almost touching his chest and her big hazel eyes staring warmly up at him, "next time you want to give me a warm welcome, please tell me first" she let out softly and his face immediately changed into a quirky little smirk which made her stomach drop. "Where in Merlin's beard would be the fun in that?" he chuckled and she rolled her eyes, "now" she moved towards the others wiggling her eyebrows, "what's this I hear about an inauguration." In reality their inauguration was the boys asking her if she was up to the task of pranking and whether or not she could be trusted with all their secrets, while Sirius pranced around her chanting stupidly. She played along though and found herself enjoying their stupid initiation. "Do you solemnly swear you are to no good" James asked her in a put on posh authoritative voice and she replied with a monotone yes, "will you stand by your friends and never tell a soul what we tell you" the air became more serious after that question and Aoibhe answered with a very heartfelt "yes" this time. By the end of the interview Aoibhe was finding it very hard to keep a straight face and so were the others, James finally concluded the ceremony by closing his eyes and belting out the words "mischief managed" before the five of them dissolved into giggles. Moony, wormtail, padfoot, prongs and wren all left the room of requirement together and went straight back to the Gryffindor common room. "Please for the love of God don't wake me up again, I really need my beauty sleep" Aoibhe whined, "me too" Sirius yawned and he hugged her good night before going to their room followed by James and Peter. She turned to say goodnight to Remus and found him biting his lip with his eyebrows scrunched up a little, "are you sure we're okay, I honestly didn't mean to scare you." She smiled fondly and reached up on her tippy toes to place a kiss to the underside of his jaw, unfortunately the only place within her reach. "I'm honestly surprised you had it in you, you're just full of surprises" she drawled and this time it was his turn to roll his eyes. "Goodnight Aoibhe" he pressed a kiss to her forehead and left her a little gobsmacked until she found the will to walk back to her dorm room.
