3.2: I'M ZESTER (continuation) by Aasher

☆☆☆

Cara blushed a bit more. Knowing that the sane in front of her is her guide.

"Cara... Mia" she muttered inaudibly.

"Pardon??" Zester asked confusingly and took a step closer, closing their space and making me step back a bit.

Zester closed his eyes for showing determination at getting her name.

"Cara Mia" Cara muttered hastily but a bit louder.

"Oh---uhm..." He stepped backward and cleared his throat. Not expecting that this is her.

"Er... okay. I'm Zester, your---" he stopped in hesitation. I knew he would say 'guide'.

"Guide...of course" Cara said sheepishly under her breath.

"Oh... well yes. But I will not be your guide only, of course." Zester said hastilym not wanting her to think that every training and mission she'll experience will be a struggle and stressful.

"Thank God for that." Cara muttered and Zester laughed softly. Both of them ignoring me.

So what now?? I'm a third wheel here??

As if Cara heard what I thought, her eyes flew to me.

She smiled and introduced me to him.

"Anyways, this is Mavene Zoe, a lovely friend of mine." I half-smiled and raised my left hand and placed it back on my side for a second. He returned me a nod.

From a moment, he looked at his watch and slapped his forehead.

"Right...uhm...er---its already 12:30. Until what time ate you both free?" He asked.

Since earlier. Duh. Its already break since earlier.

I ignored his question and informed him, "We're from section A, nineth graders".

"What a bad luck we have then.... I'm from section B of the 9th grade. Anyways, according to your schedule---" he stopped and flipped his book to see a duplicate of our schedule.

"Well... you have 15 more minutes left..."

I know. Its been a while of talking, discussing and fun, right?? Haven't you noticed even a bit?

"We better get going then" Cara suggested with a bright smile plastered on her face.

*------*

The time we reached the cafeteria, Zester volunteered to be left behind at the table to continue reading and since he invited us, he reasoned out.

"So are you still not curious??" Cara asked so annoyingly as she grabbed an apple while a was choosing a burger from the burger stall.

Can't she stop blabbering, talking or asking??? This is getting annoying!

"Why should I be??" I asked calmly, knowing that the bubbling silent anger inside me is making my blush furiously. And that the him  she's talking about is my guide. And deciding so fast to just get two cheeseburgers, since I don't want yo be left behind.

I grabbed two canned sodas while she was getting a bowl ful of soup and a viand.

"Because he's your guide" Cara answered simply. As if the explanation and the answer was obviously hanging there; as if it was enough. No need for explanations.
