The basement

5 years later

   Meghan is 11, Edward is 9, and Ally is 8. The twins were boys and their names are James Edward Benson and Raymond Anthony Benson who are 5. There is also twin girls named Margret Marie Benson and Kaitlin Joy Benson who are two. Liv wants to get out of that room and show her kids what the real world looks like. All her kids know is that room. Liv hears the door unlocking and Anthony comes in. "Hello my love," Liv smiles at him.
   He sets down 8 plates of food and says,"I'll be back tonight."
   Liv nods and when Anthony opens the door she says,"Goodbye my love."
   They eat and then later that night when Liv hears the door unlock and open she says,"Hello, my-," when she realizes it isn't Anthony. "Who are you?"
   "I'm Kaleb. I'm looking for Anthony. I won't hurt you I promise. Does he keep you," he looks around the room and sees seven frightened kids and says,"And these kids locked up in here?"
   Liv nods and says,"They are my kids. The oldest is 11 the same amount of years I've been locked in here. What do you want my love for?"
   "He owes me money for gambling that was due yesterday."
   Liv nods and says,"He isn't in here but he should be here with dinner soon."
   The kids nod in agreement knowing that their growling stomachs mean it is dinner time. Anthony appears in the door way and Liv says,"Hello, my love. This guy says you didn't pay him for your gambling debt."
   The kids run over to where Anthony set the food down and start to eat. Liv joins them while Kaleb and Anthony argue. When Liv sees a gun she brings the kids to the back of the room where they will be safe. "Stay here and don't come out till I come and get you."
   They nod and Liv goes and sees what is going on. All of a sudden there is a gun shot and Anthony is on the ground, dead. Liv runs over to him and cries,"No no don't die." Liv looks over at Kaleb and cries,"What did you do?"
   "He didn't have the money and he said he wasn't going to pay me. I just saved you."
   "No you didn't save me. He was the only one who took care of me and my kids."
   Kaleb walks out leaving the door open. Liv gets up and walks over to her kids. "Come on kids we are leaving. We are going to mommy's old work."
   They nod and get up. Liv picks up Margret and Kaitlin and the others hold hands walking behind their mom. When they get out of the room Liv sees it was just a room of a house without windows and not a basement like she thought. They walks slowly outside and Meghan say,"Mom what is that?" She points to a tree.
   "That's a tree Meghan. I know you're the oldest and I'm sorry that you're 11 and you haven't seen the outside. I really am."
   Liv breaks down right there in front of her kids. After I few minutes she recomposes herself and then she realizes she is in the middle of New Jersey. She hails a cab and says,"I understand this is a long way but can you take me to the Manhattan SVU precinct in New York."
   "I'm sorry but I can only take you to the New York State line."
   "Please, I'm begging you. Me and my kids were locked up for 11 years and I promise if you take me to the Manhattan SVU precinct you'll get extra money from someone there. I use to work there."
   The taxi driver says,"Okay ma'am."
   The drive takes 4 hours to get to the precinct. Liv gets out, sees El, and says on the verge of tears,"El. Is that you?"
   El turns around when he hears the nickname only Liv calls him. When he turns around he sees Liv standing at a taxi with a bunch of kids, runs over to her, and says,"Liv is that you?"
   She nods and says,"I don't have money to pay the driver. It was a long trip, clear from New Jersey."
   He nods and pays the driver, then realizes what all of them are wearing. "Momma, who is that man?" Margret asks scared. All the kids nods in agreement looking terrified.
   "This is momma's old partner Elliot but I call him El."
   Elliot smiles at Liv and says,"Let's get you inside Liv."
   Liv nods and says,"Come on kids. Just stay near momma."
   They all nod and grab on to Liv somewhere even Meghan. They walk into the precinct and when Amanda and Fin see Liv they gasp and run to her. When they run over to Liv they scare her kids and Liv says,"Guys calm down you're scaring them."
   "Who are they?" Amanda asks
   "This is my mommy. Who are you?" Margret asks.
   "I'm your mom's co-worker Amanda."
   "Mommy I want to go home," Ally says.
   "Do I still have my apartment?" Liv asks the team.
   El nods and says,"You're going to need a house though."
   "My apartment will work for the time being. Can you take us and drop us off?"
   El nods and when he goes to touch her she flinches back. "I'm sorry.... It just I haven't been touched by anyone other than my kids and my love."
   El gets a hurt look and stutters out,"Your love. You're calling the person who held you for 11 years your love."
   "I don't need this right now El," Liv screams at him. "I just want to go home. I just want my love back."
   Liv starts crying and when El tries to hug her she pushes him away. "Don't touch my mom," Meghan yells and knees El in his private.
   El falls down and Liv just stares. 'What has the room done to us?' Liv thinks to herself. "Amanda can you take us home please?"
   "Yea come on."
   Liv carries Margret and Kaitlin down to the car while the others hold on to Liv anywhere they can reach. Liv doesn't mind because she knows her kids are scared. They get into one of the unmarked vans so there is enough room. Liv sits in the middle of all her kids while Amanda drives. When they get to Liv's apartment she realizes none of her kids have seems stairs and their is no elevator. "Come on kids. Thanks for the ride Amanda. I can take care of them. Thank your aunt Amanda for the ride."
   "Thank you," they all say scared.
   "You're welcome kiddos. You're welcome Liv."
   Liv smiles at Amanda then takes her kids inside. When they see the stairs they start to tremble. "It's okay babies." Liv sets down Margret and Kaitlin and says,"You can do this. Just walk up the stair with me. Everyone holds on to their mommy and walks up the stairs. Even Meghan is scared so she walks in the back because she is more scared that everyone else will fall.
