you are walking through the city where you live late at night. Despite living there your whole life, the many twists, turns and crowded streets still confuse you.

You had decided to take a short cut earlier, but had soon found yourself lost in all the dark alleys. Everything looks different in the dark: tight corners that used to catch the midday sun are now inky blackness that could hide anyone; the illumination from street lights, beacons of false hope, and false light. you don't like the dark. you faintly wonder for a moment why Shine, one of your best friends, loves this time of day, before shrugging it off.

A shadow of movement in the corner of your eye catches your attention. you reach for your (weapon of choice), although you can't really use it. the next thing you feel is a pair of gloved hands wrapping round your neck, growing tighter by the second, making your mind foggy and your weapon fall.
