It was about 4:00 A.M. and Jackson and Lucas had fallen asleep on the couches in the garage, I turned on the space heater and gave them a few of those throws everyone has in their house. Gavin had went home earlier in the night since his parents are pretty strict. I walked inside to my bedroom down the hallway and passed out, limbs sprawled across my bed.

I met all the guys through school. When I first started smoking I was bumming cigarettes off of people in the back of this parking lot, where everyone went to smoke. Then Gavin came up and introduced himself and handed me a cigarette. I went over to the group of kids, and that's when I met everyone. I felt like I was finally a part of something. My ex boyfriend Logan hated them, and I felt terrible that they didn't get along, but they were my friends and I couldn't let that go.

I awoke to a text at 6:00 A.M: "Ivy I think we should talk, do you want to have lunch?" from Logan. I read these words like I didn't believe them, like someone had just told me I died. I responded, but it took me for what seemed like forever, to comprehend what to say to that when I only got 2 hours of sleep. I finally just sent a "When and where?" and layed down, staring at my ceiling.

Eventually, I had gotten up and slipped on some jeans, Jackson was in the kitchen. "Hey Jude, how'd you sleep?" He asked, spreading butter on toast.

"Not good, why are you up so early? I thought you'd be sleeping til noon." I replied.

"I don't know, couldn't go back to sleep I guess. Why are yooou up so early?" He took a giant bite out of the piece of toast.

"Logan texted me"

"What'd he say?" He asked quickly, a little defensive.

"He asked if we could get lunch or something." I replied, not really thinking that it mattered.

"Well fuck that." Jackson said, looking kind of frustrated

"Well why not Jackson?"

"He doesn't deserve lunch with you, but he does deserve to get his ass kicked." He chuckled slightly.

"I don't know what your problem is." I said.

"My problem? He's the one that hurt you. Don't tell me you're actually ganna go to lunch with this dick."

I walked out of the room, and got ready to take a shower. At that point, I was just pissed at him. I wanted him to leave, he didn't know my feelings or what Logan deserves. In the shower, I was getting caught up in my head of what to say to Jackson, to Logan.

After my shower, I put on clothes, did my makeup, and hoped he was gone. To my surprise, he was and Logan had texted me the address of the place he wanted to go. So I went to the garage and woke up Lucas, telling him I was going out and that there was food in the fridge. Then I headed out to my crappy car, but I heard a voice as I walked down the driveway. I looked up to be greeted by Jackson, on my roof, smoking.

"Jude, I'm sorry. Just smoke with me." He said, his feet dangling over the edge. So, I did. I stepped on the trashcan and climbed up to the roof. "I just don't want you get hurt again. You were so upset. I hate seeing you like that" He helped light my cigarette and I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I understand, but this is just something I have to do, i'll be okay." I answered. After a while I hopped back down and waved goodbye. It wasn't too long until I got to the restaurant to meet Logan, so I was a little early. I went in and picked a table to sit and stared out the window. I saw Logan pull up in his silver hummer.

I heard Lucas, in the back of my head saying "Every asshole drives a hummer." Maybe he was right, but I shook off the idea as Logan came and sat down in front of me.

"Hey Ivory" he smiled.

"Hey" I smiled too and got goosebumps all over.

"Did you already order?"

"No, just got water."

"Oh okay well then I guess we can talk about it now and then eat. I just wanted to say that I don't think we should be friends. I don't think we should talk at all anymore" He said, and I just stared. "That's why I had this big lunch planned, so that we can say our good byes" He said, almost seeming like it was something normal, casual, not gut-wrenching.

"Why," was the only thing I could muster out.

"I met someone, and that sounds really terrible but like she's really good for me, it almost seems like it was meant to be, you know Ivory?" He said, staring at me. But I couldn't answer.

"Her name is Sarah, she's absolutely perfect. I mean you know how that is, I don't want her thinking I'm caught up on my ex or anything. That wouldn't be smart." He chuckled. "But you understand don't you?" Then that asshole smiled at me.

I didn't really know what to do, I mean what can you do? It almost felt like he had dumped me all over again. "Sorry, I gotta go." I grabbed my bag and stood up to leave.

"Ivory please wait-"

"Its Jude, asshole.." I pointed out and walked out of the restaurant.
