Chapter 5:

Her body ached in places she never expected, her head was also pounding as if someone was swinging a giant hammer against the side of her skull. Inside of that her brain couldn't even comprehend anything that was going on, it had all gone to mush. Bits of memory had gone from her mind making her forget nearly most of the precious moments in her life. She could remembered nothing of that night or the one who tried to damage her. Her memory only took her so far.

The last memory in her mind played like a record player on repeat, except it brought her back four years ago. Before she had truly met Vanitas, before him cheating and breaking her heart. It was like she had gotten a do over just like she wanted, with a few broken bones and memory loss.

The day brought her back to not only her high school graduation but to her 18th birthday. She was standing outside after the ceremony looking around for her family and friends. Her eyes were shining a bright blue from the sun beaming down on her face and her teeth were shone as she smiled like never before. It was one of the best days of her life. Her blue pupils scanned the crowd, passing by other graduates and happy families hugging their own children.

"Nami!" A voice deep within the hundreds of people called out attempting to get her attention, the struggle couldn't have been worse but after a few tries the voice had succeeded. She had looked in their general direction. Wasting no more time she had ran over to the voice of the young boy calling her name.

"Roxas! We did it!" She screamed the closer she got. At that exact moment he knew what was coming, right on cue he opened his arms and caught the young blonde headed beauty in his arms. "We graduated!" They both proceeded to laugh while he swung her around in circles. She held on tightly around his neck before finally placing her down. He stared at her face, taking in how happy she was. He loved seeing her this way and that is how he wanted to make her feel. Before he realized what he was doing he had taken some hair that had fallen in front of her face and put it behind her ear.

She stared back at him and for a moment it seemed like he would kiss her but instead his nervous self stepped back and he placed one of his hands behind the back of his neck and scratched.

"Uh.. so hey, I got something for you." He dropped his hands and reached underneath his gown and grabbed a small box from within his jeans. "I thought of you when I saw it." He went to hand her the box and upon her face was complete shock, it took a moment for him to realize why she would make such a face. "Oh no! It's not that! I mean if you wanted it to be, wait no. It's just.." He sighed and opened the box to reveal a tiny charm bracelet, it held one charm a tiny star that represented how much she shined in his eyes, something he wished to also tell her. "If you don't like it I could always take it back or you can come with me, pick out something you like."

Her face had lit up again and she took the tiny trinket from the box, placing it around her wrist. "Roxas it's wonderful. I love it, I'll always wear it. Now relax, I was just messing with you." She reached over with her hand and ruffled his blonde spiky hair. "You know you didn't have to get me anything for my birthday."

"I know but I thought I should. Think of it as a graduation present also, but anyways there's something I've been meaning to tell you as well." He had waited a lifetime to tell her that he loved her and now is good as ever. They were finally out of school and going into the big world. He didn't want to be a child anymore, he wanted to be a man especially one that told his feelings. "What is it?" Taking a deep breath and summoning his courage he went to tell her but as usual he got disrupted.

"There you are! We have been looking everywhere for you guys!" A few people had broken through the crowd to come see them. Within this group held Kairi, Sora, Ventus, Vanitas, her step-parents, step-brother, and Roxas's parents. The leader of the group was Kairi, she was the first to reach both of them able to give them hugs before everyone else crowded them. "Look at you guys! It was just last year we were in your shoes." She hooked her arm onto Sora's and smiled.
