                                          Endure My Heart

I! See through windows in my mind.

Visions of hope entangled and surrounded by deceit.

To capture an unsuspecting heart, mouths lie and hands hold with false pretense.

I see, past, when my heart was savagely cut with blade forged with lies and false promises of love.

I watched, as that blade turn to kill an open, caring, and giving mast lay wondering why.

I watched, tears fall blending with blood, not for pain, for understanding. My heart is simple.

I looked into my hearts eyes and consoled, and as I mopped the last drop from a bottomless soul, I washed my eyes.

Then, there, and at that moment I made covenant to protect and serve my heart with gladness.

For my promises have stood through, academics, corporate, and life. And guard my heart I shall.

Now time passes through veins, and endless walls have been build, and always finding new ways to protect and defend my loving heart. I lock the last lock and nail the last nail I turn to hold my enduring heart.

I scenes salty aroma, sight of corrosion, and feel of stone and weight, panic set. I cultch tight seeking help, fast thoughts, biceps weaken, hands loosens, legs stumble, fall, we lay. I stare with please don’t leave.

My heart’s eyes flooder to wake from an uncomfortable rest as I wait to catch his stare. My tears drop to his lips as his mouth crackles from movement. For so long I’ve not heard his call, I wait.

A wheeze of air as his mouth forms, air blows out a crackling whisper, “Let me go.”
