Third POV
"I suck so bad at winged eyeliner." Olivia says out loud to herself. Olivia Mayo sat in her room on the floor staring in the mirror. 'I'm fine', she thought, 'No, I'm not fine.'
For the past two months, Olivia has barely left the house, unless accompanied by her parents to a specific, un-social, place, due to her fear of her new city. Times Square compared to Rochester, where she's been all her life, is a big crazy change. Her family moved because her mother got offered a better job in Times Square and was attracted to the city's vibe. It was between there and Maryland, and the whole household came together to make a decision.
"OLIVIA!!!" Olivia hears from downstairs. She winces slightly at the loud noise.
"Yea?" Olivia says as she slugs down the stairs. Ever since the family has moved, Olivia's mother, Janice, has been sensing her down mood and has not left her alone.
"Do you want me to take you to school tomorrow?"
"Yea. Do you know where it is?"
"Olivia, I'm the one who had to register you there."
"Oh, right."
"Are you excited?"
'That you moved me from everything I've ever known and loved? No.' Olivia thinks.
"Not really." Olivia says. Her tone showed her disappointment and Janice looked up from her book.
"Liv, I know you're a little upset about us moving away."
'Wow. A little?'
"But I know you'll love it here if you just step out of your comfort zone, a.k.a. stop being so stubborn. I've seen your school and it's amazing. Plus they have really nice shops just around the block."
Then it hit her. 'I'm in New York. Like the good part--the times square. This is so crazy. From Rochester to here? A big small jump. Wait a second, my school could probably be walking distance.'
"Mom, we're in Times Square. Driving will probably make me late." Olivia laughed.
"Okay, sure. You want me to walk you?"
"Mom, I'm a junior in high school."
"Ok, Olivia, you just never know when a child needs her momma."
"Mom." Olivia groaned.
"Sorry," Janice laughed, "Hey you know that vine singer you like?"
"Shawn Mendes? Yeah, why?"
"I read that he's moving here. I don't know if it's a rumor or not."
"Mom, you're kidding." said Olivia, shocked(shook lol), "That's not true" She then laughed it off.
"Oh okay; I mean I was just saying I didn't know if it was true or not." Janice looked back down at her book.
Olivia then rushed upstairs into her room immediately and opened her computer. She had searched on 7 different websites for about half an hour until she realized it was true. They had all said he moved in New York so he could be closer to his work.
'Is he already here though?' said Olivia wanted to cry so badly but she couldn't because in a matter of time it was 11:30. She cursed to herself and climbed in bed. New school, New city, and Shawn Mendes. Tomorrow was going to be a wild ride.
A/N: Omg, I feel like sometimes I wanna write it in first pov so it mayyyy changee?? Idk. It's been a while and I'm sorry but from now on, I'm gonna have half of the next chapter written lol. Hopefully I'll get better in the writing as the story continues but yeah. BTW SORRY THIS WAS SHORT! I suck at intros and stuff :/
