Percy POV

I fell asleep. When I woke up, Annabeth was sleeping beside me, her head rested on my chest. My breathing felt better.

I tentatively moved a wing. It wasn't as sore. I sat up, and listed sideways. Annabeth's eyes opened, and caught me before I fell.

"Awake, huh, Seaweed Brain." Then I realized that she was staring at something on my chin.

"You drool when you sleep." She remarked, amusement flickering in her eyes.

"Wha-what..." I couldn't think of a very good comeback.

"Let's go get breakfast." She got out of bed, and started towards the door.

I tried to follow her, but I fell on my face on my first step out of bed.

"Stay here. I'll fetch us breakfast." She said, and left.

Annabeth POV

As I made my way down to the dining hall, I bumped into someone. I looked up. Her obsidian black hair tumbled down her shoulders. Her red eyes glittered with power, and she wore a purple cloak with gilded golden armour.

"Uh...uh..." I barely managed a word.

"You." She sneered, barring her fangs into a...well...sneer.

"What do you want?" I asked, inching backward. Those eyes were literally dripping with anger.

"You...you have been too close to the prince." She snarled, getting closer. I swear, what was up with her?

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"He's mine. Perseus Jackson is mine. Now yours. If you ever get close to him again, I swear that I'll pulverize you." She growled, her red eyes flashing. I had a feeling that she, too, was a convincing liar.

As I tried to run away, she slammed me against the wall and looked straight into my eyes. I say, that girl sure does have a temper.

"I, Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano keep my promises." She threatened, loosening her grip, and letting me walk away.

I just rolled my eyes, and went to get some breakfast.

When I got there, I was greeted by a surprise. Percy was down there, leaning on a crutch, arguing with one of his officials. I'm sure his name was like...Octavian, or something, and he was using hand gestures, like he was extremely agitated.

Finally, Percy and Something-Or-Other stopped arguing. As I walked forward, I crashed into Percy, who looked up in surprise, and held out a hand.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked.

I noticed that everyone was staring at him strangely. Him and me. "Uh...what?" I protested, taking his hand and getting up.

People began giggling and whispering, wandering off in twos and threes.

Shit. What did they think was going on, those dirty minded weirdos.

"Why are you down here?" I asked.

"Oh, uh, official business." He muttered, and then we went to the table.

"Anyway..." I muttered. "How's the poison?"

"Oh," he smiled weakly. "It's fine. It's getting better, obviously."

"So," he turned serious. I suddenly remembered that he was a vampire, cause he spread his wings.

For some reason, he flexed them, like when he's nervous, and his sea-green eyes nervously bore into my grey orbs.

He scratched the back of his neck.

"What?" I asked.

"Annabeth...you know...the Blue Moon Ball is coming up soon." He stuttered, a head of sweat trickling down his neck.

"So?" I was confused. What was he so nervous about, geez?

"Will you...do you...uh...uh-d-do you...want-to-be-my-date-to-the-dance?!?!" He stammered, blush rising into his cheeks.

I was stunned. Me, a lowly servant girl, dance with a guy like...like him?!

"Percy...why the hell would I say no?!" I asked, slapping him gently.

"So...yes?"

I nodded vigorously, unable to express my happiness in words.
