"Ow!" What the fuck?", you pulled your earbud out of your ear, and examined it. It had just caused a sharp pain down your neck. You frowned. You had always heard about how terrible it was to wear earbuds. After a few moments the pain started to subside, so you put them back in, this time with a little bit of added precaution.
A few raindrops outside your bus window started to fall. But that really didn't bother you, you enjoyed the rain and grey weather, preferred it much more over the sun and blue skies, for reasons you didn't understand. Oh well. You looked up a few isle's, and frowned. She was talking to him again. "What did you expect? It isn't like she's going to walk over here and kiss you, you have to do something" you told yourself. But that was the problem, you couldn't do anything. You didn't want to say you were scared of her, but that was the inferior reality. At least her being preoccupied with him meant you could stare at her for a little bit. You had to smile a little bit, just seeing her smile, it was hard for you not to smile yourself, she was just too perfect.
"Boy oh boy Donovan, you're really interesting in Margo's necklace, aren't you?"
You turned around, to see a grinning, devilish blonde face looking back at you.
"Shut the fuck up Josh" you laughed. He recoiled and licked his lips.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just worried about the fact that my friend could qualify to be on the next episode of TLC's My Strange Addictions".
You threw a friendly punch, but he ducked behind the seat, and you swung at nothing. His head popped back up and he smiled.
"Man, you need to make a move! Do something! Talk to her for god's sake." "I never have the chance to make a move!" He frowned and furrowed his eyebrows. "You are literally about to spend three fucking months with her in a small ass cabin! What do you mean!" You rolled your eyes at the ceiling. "Alright you win there" He nodded in satisfaction. "I'll give you a hundred bucks if by the end of the trip you guys have made out at least once." you recoiled. "Jesus Christ" you muttered under your breath. He grinned again. "Alright?" you questioned. "That's my buddy" he said with an uplifting tone. "You can go back to your starring contest now." You turned around and put your earbuds back in. "Fucking Josh".
It was true, you were pretty excited. You had signed up for a incredibly long wilderness stay for geography class. Fucking private school and the shit it gave you. You were heading up to a little cabin in the middle of Ashland Oregon. You were pretty excited, actually. It had been owned by your school for a hell of a long time, and only a handful of students got to go, those with a grade average above ninety five percent, with a few occasional exceptions. That included You, Margo, Oliver, Lauren, Jon, and of course, Duncan. Margo's so called 'crush'. They were always talking, always laughing, it was amazing that they still weren't dating. Oh well, you could probably manage to do something to keep them apart this autumn.
You looked around at your fellow grade eights, the ones that were going with you. The rest of the class was coming along to say goodbye. Oliver was reading A Brief History of Time in front of you, his black hair slicked back against his pale skin. Lauren was behind Margo and Duncan, and you could make out she was opening Snapchats. You picked up your backpack and ripped out some paper and scribbled "Hey! You better not be opening nudes!" crumpled it up and threw it at her. It her her in the back of the head, and she looked at you and frowned. She then proceeded to read the note and laughed and scribbled something else down, and threw it back at you. "Trust me, we don't share similarity's on that one fucker" read the paper, right under your sentence. You grinned at her and shoved the note into your pocket. Lauren was one of your best friends, and the only good friend you had on this trip. Jon was sitting all the way at the back of the bus, sketching. Technically, Jon shouldn't be coming along, for he was in grade seven, he was granted to come on the trip because of his amazing art. Of course he also had a high average, but when he asked to come along and paint the fall colors, our school agreed. Then there was you, Donovan, with your Panic! At the Disco shirt, surrounded by camera equipment. You and Jon were exceptions, because you hadn't even had the honor roll. You were here because you were supposed to film a mini-movie on the trip. You were humbled when you were asked by the school board, and even more excited when you realized that you would get to go along with Margo. Hopefully you could make it a good one.
