Cassie's P.O.V.I was so mad. I'm sick of this shit! Since dad died my mom has been acting so different. I mean, she's still nice and acts like a mom, but there's something off. Shes been taking longer shifts at work, and seems like she's depressed.
And yeah. Thats right. My dads dead. He died, or should I say murdered, when I was Thirteen.
The bad part is I was there.
*Five Years Ago*
"C'mon Cassie we're gonna miss the subway!" My dad yelled as we ran through the subway station, which was completely empty. We were almost there when we were like ten yards away from it, the doors closed, and the subway took off.
"Dang it! We missed it!" My dad said. "I'm sorr-"
I was cut off by a gun being loaded. My dad turned around swiftly, and stepped in front of me.
"Cassie close your eyes." My dad said very calmly. I didn't understand why he wanted me to close my eyes, but I listened to him and did as I was told. I heard the man say; "Hand it over! Now!" I heard my dad shuffle through his pocket? "Here this is all I have, I swear!" I heard my dad say in a worried voice. "What about her?" The man asked. "Leave her be, she didn't do anything! She doesn't even know what you look like." Then I heard a gun shot, and running. I opened my eyes. My dad was on the ground, with a puddle of blood around him getting bigger, and bigger. "Dad!" I screamed. I kneeled down and kept on shaking him, "Dad, wake up! please wake up!" I cried. "Someone help!" I screamed. "Please! someone help!" I was smart enough to know he was gone. "Dad. I love you." I whispered to him as I laid down beside him, getting his blood all over my back, and hair, but I didn't care, I wasn't even thinking about that. "Dad, don't go." I whispered.
*Flashback Over*
Now I understood why he wanted me to close my eyes. He didn't want me to see who was robbing him, because he knew that if I would have seen him, he would have killed me too.

I got my suitcase out of my closet, and began stuffing my clothes in it. Once I had it fully packed, I took a book bag and went downstairs. Luckily, my mom was nowhere to be seen. I got a loaf of bread, three cans of ravioli, a few plastic spoons and forks, a pack of twinkies, and some change that was on the kitchen counter.
I went back upstairs, got my laptop, iPod/earplugs, and my phone, and stuffed it in the back pack. I also. Put all of my savings in there, not much, maybe like seven hundred dollars. Well, that'll probably last me a week I thought. I put two jackets on, (it was cold, and I like them both.) slid my book back on, and picked up my suitcase. I quietly made my way downstairs, and out the front door. I started walking.
*Three Hours Later*
Still walking. It's dark now. Probably going on 9:30 or 10:00, I thought.
I found a nearby park, I put my suitcase down, and sat on the park bench. I unzipped my book bag, checked my phone. 9:47 pm. I put my phone back in there, and got out a twinkie. Don't judge me, there good! I sat in silence and ate my twinkie. After I was done I went to get some water outta my back back, wait a minute, I don't recall packing water. Fuck! I forgot water! How could I forget the most important fucking thing?!? I packed back up, picked up my luggage and started walking again. I saw a cheap looking motel up ahead.
I started walking towards it. This has been a long day, I thought.
'Yeah, and it's not even over yet,' my subconscious reminded me.
Ugh, Fuck my life.
