Caylen's POV:

Chapter 10-

Where the hell is she? I went to her Spanish class, but Mrs. Romero kicked me out before I could even ask her where Erin was. I didn't see her in her seat, but the janitor was there and it looked like he was cleaning up blood. I got a little worried but didn't think anything of it. Mrs. Romero told me to go to my class before I got a detention, I didn't need to be told twice. I went across the hall to French and got a detention anyway for being late, at least I didn't get two.

I took my seat next to Ricky and tried not to attract any more attention to myself. "Hey dude, you wouldn't happened to have seen Erin on your way to class have you?"

"Na, I was running late so I didn't really check to see if Erin Liken got to class okay." He giggle the stupid giggle he has. "Why do care about Erin Liken anyway? You gotta crush on the weird girl Caylen?" I was mad.

"Yes you jackass, I do. I have a crush on Erin Liken. She's not weird, she's perfect and if you have a problem with her, you have problem with me."

"Damn, way to go Caylen! Well if you wanna go out with her I'm sure she won't have a problem with that. Your rich and the most popular kid in school. Hell Caylen, I even wanna go out with you!" I couldn't tell if he was joking but I gave him a wtf look and called it quits.

French dragged on forever, I just wanted to get out of the damn class and go to lunch to find Erin and tell her that I did it and that I was done with Grace forever. I can see the smile on her face, dimples intact, eyes shining like stars in a clear night sky. I start to day dream but I'm interrupted by an angry Ms. Gerst asking me to tell Ricky that he has hair like the glistening ocean. I am confused at first and say it in English. She rolls her eyes and the class erupts with laughter. I connect the dots, Ricky has horrible hair, I'm in French class and were learning about physical traits and similes... OH!!! She wants me to tell Ricky he has hair like the glistening ocean in French! I'm glad I studied last night. I say the line with passion toward Ricky and get some kids let out giggles. The bell rings and I head to 4th period.

Calculus goes even slower, but at least I don't have to lie about Ricky having nice hair. The bell rings and I bolt out of there like a cat being chased by a dog.

I throw my books in my locker, I can tell my locker will be jammed when I try and open it coming back from lunch. I take off running only to realize that when I'm half way there I forgot my lunch in my locker. I run back to my locker, sure enough the damn thing is jammed. I kick it three times and then do my combination. Works every time. I run back to the lunchroom and throw my lunch down in between to Kian and Jenn.

"Jeez buddy, slow down there cowboy." He adds in a southern accent making us laugh. I roll my eyes and ask him if he's seen Erin.

"Erin? Erin Liken?" I nod my head.

"What the hell do you care about Erin Liken for, she a weird creep who's been obsessed with you since eighth grade." It takes all my willpower not to punch him square in the nose. I settle for the balls. I give him a nice punch right in the nut sack.

"Thanks for the help." I say sarcastically

"Your welcome." He's barely able to get it out and his voice has raised an octave. I laugh and turn to ask Jenn, but before I can ask she answers the question.

"Your girlfriend Grace went all ape shit and attacked her during 3rd period, knocked her out for a couple seconds, she's in the nurse last I heard. The nurse said she has a concussion and something is wrong with her shoulder." Jenn was my waterfall of information.

"Who told you all this?" I ask as I'm quite curious.

"George, he's in my 4th period class, told our whole class, even Mr. Stevens wanted to know." I don't trust George, but I do trust Jenn. Why would Grace do that, it's not Erin's fault I love her, it's mine. Now Erin is hurt and it's all my fault, I have to find her. Right before I'm about to get up and go to find her Jenn whispers something in my ear.

"Go get her." I look at her with a puzzled look that asks how she knew.

"I saw the way you kissed her at the party, it was a true love kiss, you guys tried cover but you couldn't. You both love each other, and you can see it in the way you kiss. It's like how Kian and Andrea kiss or how Romeo and Juliet and kissed. So once again, go get her." She gives me a smile and I jump up, Connor asks where I'm going but I don't respond, I have a girl to save.

I'm about to enter the nurses office when I see her. Her hair is stuck together and darker in one spot on the back of her head. She looks so peaceful, her eyes closed, her chest steadily moving up and down. I check to see if the nurse is in the room. No sign of her. I walk in, I close the door quietly to make sure I don't wake Erin. I look at her lips, they look so sweet, so nice. I lean in, I ever so softly place my lips on hers. It's so peaceful I wish I could stay in this moment forever. I hear a flush coming the bathroom next door, thank god for thin walls. I release my lips from hers and run my thumb over her cheek. I say goodbye and leave the room. Just as I close the door the nurse comes out of the bathroom. We pass each other and she doesn't say anything, good she didn't see me.

I think about what just happened, and then I realize what just happened, I got the start to a perfect relationship. I will never forget that kiss and she will never remember.
